Great place to find a good career if you’re willing to sacrifice college life.
Placements: Almost 70 percent of students who looked for placements got placed by the end of the third year. The highest package, to my knowledge, was 16 lakhs per year. McKinsey and Amazon were some of the top companies recruiting students from my course. About 30 percent of students got internships in my class from companies that were local to Mumbai, and some others got internships with companies all the way in Bangalore. Statistical analytics, data handling, etc., are some of the roles offered after the bachelor's degree.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms are top-notch with smart facilities, and the library contains tens of thousands of books where we can find almost anything that we look for. Although the Wi-Fi facilities offered were bad, and we rarely got network on campus. The mess and canteen are very good, offering food from all parts of India. The hostel is mediocre, and sports and games are not given importance; the college doesn’t even have a football court of its own.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified, and the teaching quality is always maintained. Surveys are conducted each semester to maintain teaching quality; however, little is taught to make students ready for work. Semester exams are relatively hard, and the pass mark required is 40 percent.
Other: Events and fests are really overrated in the college; I personally found nothing enjoyable, and it is always too crowded. The campus is very small, hardly any space for all those students.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, infrastructure, education, fests, etc.
Placements: The college's placement cell is effective at securing jobs for its students, and a high percentage of students get placed, most often from courses like BMS, BSc, IT, and Statistics. The college has an average package of 8-10 LPA. Some of the top recruiters are JP Morgan, HUL, and the banking sector.
Infrastructure: There are facilities like libraries, laboratories, a canteen, boys' hostel, church, grounds, college hall, gymkhana, and classrooms available for students. The quality of food available in the canteen is very good. The non-teaching staff is kind and helpful here.
Faculty: The faculty here is very helpful. They are qualified and knowledgeable. They are open to new suggestions and always ready to help you out. There’s a saying: "Excellent teachers make excellent students." It is not only the students who pass the exams; it is the teachers who make it possible for them.

The college has its merits and demerits.
Placements: More or less, the internships are with Stanly Morgan, but the departmental internships are not up to par. It's better to find your own internships via LinkedIn. It is said that the companies are in plenty, but that feels like a lie. Overall, just because of the name, you can get placements wherever you want.
Infrastructure: There are no ACs, but the overall infrastructure is nice. The projector works fine. The Gymkhana is nice, and the sports in college are plentiful. The library has its own vibe; it feels like you are studying in Hogwarts, but the books are outdated in many aspects. The lending and reference libraries are two different libraries.
Faculty: It's more theoretical. It would be more practical to have real-life field visits, but the college doesn't have that. It gives you a better understanding of how real life works. Most of the faculty hired are real-life working professionals, and their insights help a lot.
Other: The fests are plentiful, but after a while, it feels forced to participate to earn ECC points.

Review of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.
Placements: Our college places students in all courses. The majority of placements are made in BMS, BA economics, and BSC IT courses. The third year, the fifth semester, is when the placement process begins. The highest salary package offered is 24 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 4 LPA - 5 LPA. About 30% of students got placed in our college.
Infrastructure: There is no girls' hostel. The campus has a boys' hostel. In terms of scholarly books and periodicals available, the library is doing fairly well. The technical resources at hand are good.
Faculty: The course curriculum is designed in a way that allows it to be updated frequently to reflect all the latest developments in media. It truly helps us to be ready for the real world because it is more on the practical side. Numerous facts of journalism and public communication are included in the curriculum. It includes sociology, audio and video production, and radio and film reading and appreciation. These disciplines are taught using incredibly inventive and imaginative techniques. Every semester, there are two internal exams and one final semester exam. We have extremely wonderful instructors in our course. It was led by the late Perriyanayagi Subramanian, who created the department as a whole and this course in a way that makes them both enduring. The department continues to function incredibly well even after her passing. Experts from many fields are assigned to instruct the department's students. Rather than emphasizing theory, BAMCJ is more of a practical course that involves projects and real-world application work. Since the course itself is media-related and is constantly being updated, the curriculum is constantly evolving to reflect the state of the globe.
Other: In general, I didn't have a very positive experience. IIT Mumbai's colleges don't have a campus culture. Events are very commercial. The most well-known festivals include Zephyrus, Zeitgeist, MVM, Malhar, etc.

St. Xavier's College - The Multitudes of Life.
Placements: Around 30% of my batch was placed via the placement cell from my course, mainly because the roles offered were of an analytical background, and our course was of a different stream altogether. Still, the smart students got the offers. The highest package, as far as I remember, was 11 LPA from a reputed company (Bain & Co.). The best part is that once you register for placement via the placement cell, you have access until you're placed somewhere, which provides us with a free flow of openings in reputed corporations even after we have grown our skill set compared to when we graduated.
Infrastructure: The overall college infrastructure at St. Xavier's is no doubt the best, featuring a basketball ground, volleyball ground, gardens, gymkhana, computer lab, canteen access, and a multimedia room. The facilities are always in working condition, leaving no space for complaints or any mishaps.
Faculty: The faculty is great, with decades of experience in teaching, while some new ones are equally qualified. The average professor's qualification is at least a Bachelor's degree plus a professional course (CA, CS, CMA, CFA) and having cleared NET. The rest you can imagine.

Vibrant campus life with strong academics and excellent placements.
Placements: The placement statistics for the batch of 2023 from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, reflect strong industry engagement. Approximately 85% of students were successfully placed, with the highest package being 12 LPA, the lowest being 3.5 LPA, and an average of 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Deloitte, EY, and KPMG. Additionally, 70% of students secured internships at organizations such as Infosys, Wipro, and Google. The top roles offered were business analyst, data scientist, marketing executive, and financial analyst, showcasing the versatility and skillset of the graduates.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, is well-equipped with modern classrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, and specialized labs for practical learning. The library offers a vast collection of academic resources. The hostel facilities are decent, with comfortable rooms and access to recreational areas. The mess provides hygienic and nutritious food, and the canteen offers a variety of snacks. Medical facilities are available on campus, ensuring student health and safety. Additionally, the campus has provisions for various sports and games, encouraging a balanced student life.
Faculty: The faculty for my course at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, were highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. The teaching quality was excellent, with interactive sessions and a focus on practical understanding. The curriculum was well structured and industry-relevant, preparing students for professional challenges. Semester exams were moderately challenging, requiring a solid understanding of concepts, but with regular effort, they were manageable. The pass percentage for the course was around 90%, reflecting the effectiveness of the curriculum and the support provided by the faculty.
Other: I chose the B.Com. at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, because of its strong academic reputation and the course's alignment with my career goals. The best things about the course are the well-rounded curriculum, experienced faculty, and ample opportunities for practical exposure. However, I wish there were more industry interactions and workshops. Campus life is vibrant, with a diverse and talented crowd from all over the country. Events like Malhar and Janfest are major highlights, fostering creativity and networking. The college is well-connected with the city and surrounded by cafes, cultural landmarks, and more. Extracurricular activities and scholarships add to the dynamic student life, making the overall experience enriching.

Just 50% or above marks are mandatory in boards but student need to take an entrance exam for the admission into this college. College conducts XET to take admissions or you can also write CUET-UG entrance exam.
