A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Placement Cell Effectiveness

Based on the reviews provided, it appears that the placement cell at The American College is not very effective for B.Sc. courses. Here are some key points:

* Limited placements: According to several reviewers, only around 60 students out of a batch of approximately 100-150 students get placed every year. (Source: Reviewer 6)
* Minimal placement guidance: The college does not provide much placement guidance or conduct regular campus interviews, making it challenging for students to secure jobs. (Source: Reviewer
* Lack of industry connections: The college seems to lack strong industry connections, leading to limited job opportunities for graduating students. (Not explicitly mentioned but inferred)

On a positive note, one reviewer mentioned that one student from the B.Sc. programme got placed as a lab technician, indicating that the college might have some ties with industries. However, this is an isolated incident and does not change the overall perception of the placement cell's effectiveness.

Overall, while the college provides a good education and infrastructure, the placement cell seems to need improvement to better serve the needs of its graduates.

I chose this course to become a data analyst.
Placements: The students are placed in the ratio of 19:13, and they got the average salary package of Rs 8 LPA. There are some MNCs here by campus. They were offered many roles, and they were given job offers, and they were getting highly paid salaries. The placement is very good.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are maintained by the non-teaching staff, particularly posted for the department also. Classrooms can be occupied by 80 to 85 students. The best books and subject books are available in the library. The placement is very good. Classrooms have an inbuilt smart board and projector to enhance visual learning for students. The hostel is available for both boys and girls individually inside the campus, where it is constructed in a way that students get the utmost comfort. The hostel mess provides quality food to students to avoid homesickness.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified; many hold Ph.D. degrees and are very experienced. Exams are conducted strictly, and good marks are attainable if you study from the first day. The pass percentage is 70%. We have two internal exams and one end-of-semester exam. The exams are challenging, but they teach us in a way that helps us understand and pass.
Other: The course in the college is value for money, only 2200. And the campus is very good.

American College Review .
Placements: The percentage of students getting placed from my course is minimal. The minimum package offered is 3 LPA and the highest depends upon the domain and the skills of a particular student. Accenture and few financial corporations visit here. Business process associate is a very common role that is offered in all the courses.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very old, built by the Americans in the year 1881. The campus is green and plastic free. WiFi, laboratories, library and the classrooms are available. It has all the basic facilities required including canteen facilities. All the sports and games activities are present.
Faculty: A general and easy curriculum for each course is available. Not an advanced curriculum but a foundation package is available. Semester exams are basic. Students can easily pass in all the examinations. The pass percentage is 40%, for each subject.

Best faculty, good placement in 2023.
Placements: 60% of students are placed. Monthly packages range from 10k to 50k. 60% of students go for internships in the mechanical course or in the Physics workshop. My college confirms placement offers in my course. The teaching staff is excellent.
Infrastructure: Departments provide Wi-Fi connection. Labs are very clean, and the apparatus is in good condition. Classrooms are of a reasonable size. Hostel food is very good and tasty. There are mess and canteen facilities available, and medical facilities are also provided. Sports and games are available on campus.
Faculty: Teaching quality is average, but communication is very good. The staff is knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant. Being an autonomous college, semester questions are tough and standardized. The pass percentage for postgraduate students is a minimum of 50%.
Other: I love Physics, so I chose this course. The best aspects are communication and the campus. Lab equipment could be improved in this course.

The best college in Madurai.
Placements: Our seniors have been placed in the topmost companies, but we do not have on-campus placement. Our department provides internships to all the students, which are mandatory. They offer three specializations, namely Human Resource, Medical And Psychiatric, and Community Development.
Infrastructure: Our institution provides clean and spacious hostels for both boys and girls. We have three women's hostels and one men's hostel. We have a capacious mess in the hostel, and we are provided with hygienic food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. We have Wi-Fi facilities for educational purposes. And we have three canteens and small stalls on our campus.
Faculty: Our professors are qualified and friendly. They guide us academically and also in cultural activities. They are easy to approach, and we also have a separate library for our department with a numerous collection of books. We also have mentorship for each and every student.
Other: I've chosen this course because there is more demand for dedicated social workers. Personally, I wished to learn professional social work. The best thing about our course is we have practical studies, and throughout the course, we have three block placements. I wish that our institution can provide on-campus placement. We have many cultural events, fests, campus crowds, etc. Our institution gives us lots of exposure for both academics and culture.

Great college with friendly facilities and awesome atmosphere, really the best curriculum.
Placements: Students placed in high-tech companies by 8.0 GPA with distinction. The average salary of placement is 30,000 in 2024. Roles offered by the companies are economics, data analyst, telecalling, and so on. The companies provide courses to make proficient in the job role.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are maintained by the non-teaching staff, particularly posted for the department. Wide classrooms can be occupied by 70 to 75 students. The best books and subject books are available in the main library. The curriculum-following books are available in the specific department library. Three canteens with awesome flavored foods.
Faculty: The American College recruited well-educated and qualified faculty members, and they help to clarify your doubts and provide career guidance. The teaching methods are really understood by each and every student. Exams are less difficult to clear with high knowledge.
Other: I chose this course to become a data analyst. There are more opportunities to explore in other colleges through cultural events, paper presentations, etc.
