Best for starting your career.
Placements: More than 70% were placed in campus placements and the rest of the students were given institute sponsorship. I have been in three placements and I was selected by Goodwood Shipping Management, which has VLC, bulk, contained, and chemical tankers.
Infrastructure: When compared to the rest of the top colleges in this field in India, Great Eastern stands first in hostels and infrastructure. For one, there are three persons for officer rankings and four persons for GP ratings, including bathrooms, lockers and study tables. They will provide you with an with an iron box for each room. For laundry, people will come twice a week.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are highly qualified people. They will guide you in everything. They will even listen to your problems that you are facing at the institute. They are very much friendly but not the hostel wardens or PT sir. Coming to exams is a little bit tough.

It is the worst institute in India for doing merchant navy course.
Placements: Our college doesn't provide placements. Companies don't visit our college to recruit students. The college is not good.
Infrastructure: The hostel is not good. The food served in the hostel is not good and unhygienic. The canteen is not good.
Faculty: Our faculty members and college administration put excessive pressure on us to the extent that they threaten to fail us in exams. Surviving in this environment is becoming increasingly difficult. The wardens have made things worse for us.

Satisfied with the placements and management of this college.
Placements: Every year, 30–35% of the students get placements at this college in the GME course. The average package offered in our course was between 3-6 LPA. The college has a proper department for placement-related activities. The top recruiters at this college were Bahri, VLCC, Gesco, Anglo Eastern, etc. The top roles offered in the course were operation head, marine engineer, junior engineer, technical team, etc.
Infrastructure: The Great Eastern Institute Of Maritime has a good infrastructure for the GME course. The college has good-quality facilities for the students. Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, sports, etc. facilities were available for the students. Hostel facility was available for the students. Sports activities are promoted by the college's management.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified and knowledgeable about the GME course. They were helping each and every student. All the doubts of the students are being cleared by the teachers before the exams. The college course curriculum was relevant, which makes students industry-ready. Exams at the college were not hard to pass.

It was my dream to study the GME course at Great Eastern Academy, and I like this college.
Placements: The college provides 100% placements. It has its own company. Many top companies are offering jobs with a starting salary of Rs. 50,000 per month as a trainee. This academy has its own company in which some students are placed. Waiting time is also less compared to others.
Infrastructure: The hostel atmosphere is good, and the food is also great. We have a library, sports, physical fitness and many others. The quality of facilities is amazing. I like the campus and its rules. Labs are good with top-class equipment.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified. It is a top college to join the Merchant Navy, and it makes students industry-ready. It also level-up students' ability and develops the confidence of students. They also teach the best values of life. They are good and well-experienced, and they are friendly and supportive to everyone. Their experiences teach us a lot.
Other: It was my dream to join the Merchant Navy, and I think the course which I have chosen is the best for it. Events conducted by the academy are the best.

Review of Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies by a GME.
Placements: Great Eastern Shipping company (GESCO) is the shipping company that gives every student sponsorship by default. However, there are a lot other companies that come for placement too. For example, my batch was the Wallem 2016 sponsored batch. All 40 cadets from my batch were sponsored Times for Wallem Ship Management LTD. More prominent names are Teekay tankers, Executive Ship Management (aka ESM) for ETOs, Eastern Pacific Shipping.
Infrastructure: State of the infrastructure with very clean campus. No smartphones policy for students. Labs and classrooms are well-equipped. Competent library facility. Swimming pool available for swimming classes. Gym facilities are present. Also a recreation room with TV, table-tennis, carrom. Canteen is well-stocked.
Faculty: Faculty is very good as all are either Chief Engineers or Ship Captains. Projector slides are used for teaching. There are always moments when you learn about how to handle situations at sea when faculty tell their own stories. Wardens are Ex Indian Navy sailors. Courses available are GME, TNOC and ETO. A new course for Merchant navy Crew was started in 2016. Workshop has adequate ship machinery. Exhaustive workshop lectures will teach you welding, machining, plumbing and Machine troubleshooting. Workshop professors are extremely knowledgeable and amazing teachers. You also have duties where you are at standby in the generator room if you are an engineering cadet. STCW courses are part of the curriculum. Student to faculty ratio is 40:1.
Other: A batch passes every month on average. Whenever that happens, there is a farewell party. Campus focuses on discipline and everyone is very well-mannered. Every batch also goes on a trek. There are running events, cricket and football competitions and basketball court is available. Campus has a lot of greenery and it can get really cold in winters. Passing out parades are fun!
