Must have passed in B.Sc. in PCM with minimum 55% marks (50% in English as a separate subject) from a recognized university with Physics as an individual subject in one of the years in B.Sc. OR Candidate in 1st/ 2nd year B.Sc. with minimum 55% marks in PCM (50% in English as a separate subject) in class 12th are also eligible to apply. OR Must have B.E./ B.Tech degree from I.I.T. or a college recognized by AICTE with minimum 55% marks in the final year (50% in English as a separate subject) Medical Test Eligibility: Physical Standard: Candidate must be healthy and physically fit for sea service as per STCW 95/MS Medical rules 2000, and all its amendments, as applicable to seafarers. Candidates will have to undergo a full medical checkup through Panel Doctor approved by D.G. Shipping. Eyesight: 6/6 in each eye without visual aids with normal color vision. Candidates will undergo a full eyesight test by a Company Medical Officer and sight test by Mercantile Marine Department, GOI
