Is BE/BTech at IMI Noida a Good Choice?

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's what we've gathered:

* Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure, with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, and hostels. While rooms in the hostel may not be luxurious, they're functional.

* Faculty: Professors are generally considered knowledgeable and supportive. Many are retired naval captains or experienced professionals who bring real-world expertise into the classroom.

* Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for industry requirements. Students appreciate the emphasis on practical learning, internship opportunities, and exposure to real-world projects.

* Campus Life: Campus life could improve, with limited recreational activities and a relatively small campus area. However, the institution encourages extracurricular activities and participates in national-level competitions.

* Supportive Environment: Despite its limitations, the college fosters a supportive atmosphere where students feel encouraged to pursue their passions and interests outside of academics.

In conclusion, while there may be areas for improvement, BE/BTech at IMI Noida appears to offer a solid foundation for a career in marine engineering. With a focus on practical learning, industry connections, and a supportive faculty-student ratio, graduates can expect a competitive edge in the job market.

True Review of IMI by ex student .
Placements: Good thing is that in dns course, we first get placed in a reputed company, then our course starts. All the students were placed in a good company. The maximum package was around 8.4 LPA and the minimum was 3 LPA with average of around 5.4 LPA. Top recruiting company was M.Sc. Feet Management, Wallem Ship Management All students will get a chance to do internship in above mentioned companies .
Infrastructure: We have a 24-hour Wi-Fi connection in our cabins, and the classroom is large enough for each batch of 40 students, with whiteboards and projectors. The physics lab, seamanship lab, computer lab, and workshop LAN are also available. The hostel is up to the mark; we have study tables, chairs, study lamps, fans, AC, almirahs, and beds. The food is also good. Delicious food is available for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. A doctor comes every day (except Sunday) in the morning until 9:00 a.m. There is almost every sport to play.
Faculty: The faculty was experienced, and they had provided everything relevant to our course of Diploma in Nautical Science. Even after the completion of our course, we can connect ourselves to them if we face any difficulties in the future. There were different teachers for different subjects, and there were fixed hours of teaching for every teacher so as not to create an excessive burden on teachers.
Other: The best thing about our course is that we get to learn a lot, and there are lots of jobs after completion of our cadetship. In this course, we get to learn about meteorology, firefighting, stars, the moon, the sun, river oceans, and more. Which is quite interesting.

This is the only college in North India that gives you placements in the best companies.
Placements: There 90% of students got very good placements in top companies. There was only one company, Mediterranean Shipping Company, that offered the best placements to most students. I got internships from Meikai Marine Services India Pvt. Limited. The highest salary package offered was $500.
Infrastructure: All kinds of facilities were provided by the college. We had an excellent library, air-conditioned classrooms, and the best Wi-Fi. All facilities should have been provided by any hostel. The quality of the food was good. The mess was very clean and we also had a canteen.
Faculty: Our teachers were very talented, qualified, and intelligent because they were from very reputable companies. The course was very relevant. The course transforms a regular student into a cadet who must go on board a ship. Semester exams were a little difficult because we had to take them at the time of the covid pandemic.
Other: This is the only course that gives you placements first and then requires you to study so I chose this course. We celebrated all festivals and enjoyed campus life.

Our college has good food, infrastructure, and standard of living.
Placements: It is one of the best colleges to get placed in different companies like Fleet Management, Scorpio, Dockendale, MMSI, and Synergy. The placement percentage of our batch is 100%, and every student was pre-sponsored by one of the above companies by the college. Sub-standard companies also come to IMI for placements.
Infrastructure: All the hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with a limit of 1 GB per day. Hostels are well maintained and equipped with air-conditioners and have all sorts of amenities like western toilets and geysers for hot water. IMI has excellent food provisions and has all sorts of cuisines which include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are well-experienced and are one of the best captains from the industry itself with great on hands experience in the subjects. The course curriculum is a bit hectic but the timetable allows you to follow it with ease. The pass percentage is 50% in both practicals and theoretical exams.

It is one of the best institutes in North India.
Placements: In DNS, the cadets undergo a 12-months pre-sea training at IMI and practical training in seamanship, workshop and STCW courses. This course can only be done by students who have sponsorship (pre-placed). The placement rate is 100%. Companies like Synergy, Scorpio, Fleet Management, Dockendale, PIL, MMSI, and V R Maritime come to college for placements.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are good, cleaned and well maintained, and the food is wholesome. IMI has a fully equipped computer lab. The infrastructure is overall good. Games and sports facilities need improvement, and also the gym facility is not up to the mark.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Overall, the faculty members are excellent. This course is curriculum relevant and provides the knowledge required in the maritime industry. Semester exams are a bit hard. This course needs to be more practical.

Faculty members and placements are very good.
Placements: All students got pre-placed through interviews in different companies, so placements are 100%. The minimum salary package offered was $ 400-800 per annum. Top recruitment companies are FML, Dockendale, Synergy, MMSI and Scorpio. Almost 100% of the students got cadetship from this course. They all were offered the rank of cadet to work on a merchant ship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the institute is top-notch. It has an administrative block and a hostel where all covid protocols were strictly followed. In the administrative block, they have classrooms, reception, seamanship lab, physics and electronics lab, library, etc. All of them are highly equipped with modern means for better understanding. The hostel is very clean, and the rooms are spacious with good finishing. Wi-Fi is available too. There is a huge ground for playing different sports such as shot put, javelin throw, football, badminton, etc. There is also a separate basketball court. The food in the mess is awesome, and you can't find any complaints. You can also get first-aid treatment as a doctor visits the campus on a daily basis. There is also an in-house facility to take you to a good hospital if needed.
Faculty: Teachers here are not normal, and they are all working or retired merchant navy captains. Some instructors also have Indian navy experience. All the masters are very helpful and put effort as much as they can to make you understand all the topics. The course offers all the information, whether it be practical or theoretical, to make you ready to join and work on a ship. Semester exams are fairly mediocre if you study every day. The passing percentage is 50%, but some companies have their own passing standards.
Other: I have chosen this course to be an officer in the merchant navy as this field is expanding at a fast pace and has clear scope in the future. The thing I wish to improve at my time was the books as some of them were outdated, but after passing out, they have done that. Now, the whole course has been updated. The campus conducts various events like the International Maritime day parade to state one. The campus crowd is very good, and all our batchmates and seniors were helpful and compassionate towards studies. There is no ragging in this institute. There is no scholarship for this course, but if you are willing to join the merchant navy, you don't need it because all the loans are repaid once you become an officer. Campus surroundings are good, with a full-blown market in the near distance.
