The infrastructure and facilities are good here.

Placements: About 25% of students from our course got placed. TCS visits here for campus placements once. From our department, one student got a chance, but she didn't continue the job because she wanted to opt for higher studies. None of the students got internships from here. Many companies didn't visit here for campus placements.

Infrastructure: In our department, there is a Wi-Fi facility and laboratory room with good instruments. Classrooms are clean and tidy, and there is a library also. There are many books in the library. There is a computer lab, and the canteen is also good. Some air-conditioned classrooms are available.

Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful. Their teaching quality is good, and there is a projector setup. Teachers are qualified. Semester exams are not very hard and easy to pass if you study well. The pass percentage is 35% of marks.

Overall, it is a good college.

Placements: Around 30% of the students get placed every year. The lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Around 50% of the students got their internship in the 4th year with a pretty good salary of Rs. 500 per month. Roles offered in our course are numerous, like medical representatives, BPO, nursing, medical executives, etc.

Infrastructure: Library and laboratories are well-furnished and are filled with good quality books and equipment. There is a good Wi-Fi connection of up to 3 MB per second. The games area is good with a common room in which all indoor games are in good condition. Medical facilities are also good.

Faculty: Teachers are very humble, helpful and have a good experience of teaching of not less than 5 years. They are highly educated and are ready to help us in every possible way they can. They always guide us to the right path and tell us to avoid mistakes they made when they were students.

Other: I have chosen this course because I had a good knowledge of biology, especially in zoology, and I like staying with animals, their habitat, feeding, hunting habits, etc. I wish teachers should emphasize more practical knowledge rather than teaching us bookish knowledge.

One of the best colleges in the city. A great place to develop your character along with knowledge.

Placements: Placements does not occur at Vidyasagar college as the courses offered are not professional courses. Students usually opt to go for higher studies and pursue masters. Some students also opt for other competitive exams. Thus, we cannot judge this college in terms of placements provided.

Infrastructure: The facilities at this college are very good. Classrooms are big, a huge library with a lot of books is present in this campus. Wi-Fi is also available at the campus. Labs are technological advanced and contains modern equipment. Quality of food is good at the canteen and also served at a cheap price. Medical facilities are provided in case of an emergency. Sports and games are also given a lot of importance. There is common room with the facilities of table tennis, carrom, as well as a small playground is available where cricket, football and volleyball are played. Hostels are not clean and available along with the academic building. All minimum facilities are provided.

Faculty: The teachers at this college are very helpful and supportive. They are highly qualified and also help the students beyond the scope of syllabus and studies. The knowledge they share is very useful for students and suggestions help them to take their exams easily and score good marks. The course curriculum is based on Calcutta University syllabus and is definitely relevant. They motivate the students to pursue higher studies and then proceed to research as well. The curriculum is based on applying the theoretical knowledge into practice. Also a lot of field works are held to help students related the theoretical knowledge with practical working.

Other: A lot of events and fests are held. Events like freshers, farewell along with the annual fest and other cultural events are a part of the extra-curricular activities. Scholarships are available for the meritorious students. There is scope for improvement on the infrastructure part.

Review of Vidyasagar College (UG Campus).

Placements: It is not a course which can get you placements. But if you have any interest in research work you can apply for summer internships in Bose institute, IISER Kolkata and Calcutta University. After completion of your graduation, you can apply for the primary school teacher, high school teacher posts. If you have completed your Masters after graduation, you can apply for NET / SET examination.

Infrastructure: The college building is more than 140 years old. You can not get the high infrastructure in this college. Students can do their practicals easily in labs. Classrooms are also more than 100 years old. As the college is located in North Calcutta, you can not find sports ground in the college. Foods are available at a low price in the canteen.

Faculty: Teachers are very qualified, helpful. If you have a good relationship with teachers, they will help you in the practical exams. They will make you understand the syllabus topics also. The course curriculum is perfect, and after completion of the course, you can appear in M.Sc. entrance exam of any university of India.

Other: If you want to do higher studies in bio-science, you should have your graduation degree. In zoology honours, you have excursions, if you are lucky you may have the chance to get into the core areas of national parks and stay there for 3/4 days. West Bengal government provides the scholarships in the college.

A good college in Kolkata.

Placements: Approximately, every student is placed in either educational institutions or any other related jobs. Some of them are pursuing higher studies. The students are placed in foreign countries also. Some students are involved in the college as lecturers also. So, there is no tension for placement.

Infrastructure: Well-furnished classrooms are here. The laboratories are well-equipped also. The canteen gives the best food at the cheapest price. Anyone can burn calories in the well-equipped multi-gym. A small playground is located at this college. The college has few big halls also, for functions. The college students host many programmes round the year. The student union is helpful also.

Faculty: The faculty members are a top class here. Some of them are doctorates also. They not only teach the course but also they tell some tricks for better placements. They treat the students as their children. They are ready to discuss the personal things of the students too.
