B.A. (Hons.) in History - Batch of 2022
Offered by Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening)
3.6

Review of Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening).
Placements: There are no placements for history honors, but there is a placements cell for commerce department. They get placements for B.Com and economics honors students. The average salary offered ranges between Rs 18,000 per month - Rs 20,000 per month. In this college, no big company recruits students, and only normal ones visit to hire students. It is not the best college for placements.
Infrastructure: Our college has a decent infrastructure. It was built in 1970's, this college has a great auditorium. The library is filled with book but still not everyone is able to get one because books are still lesser than the number of students. The canteen is not good, it is unhygienic but cheap. The hostel is not available, students stay in PGs or rent flats. There is a medical room with a doctor. The ground is also not available but there is a sports society which have regular events in other colleges or parks. A new building is being built, and it will have all the modern facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, they help students in studying and even guide them for future in their respective courses. Every professor is Ph.D. holders from a good university. They do skip classes sometimes. The course is the same as in every DU college and gets updated regularly. Semesters are easy, and try to stay above 5 SGPA.
Other: I chose this course because I want to become a civil servant. I hope this course helped me getting a job directly after graduation but it does not. An annual fest is held, but it is not at big level as other colleges in DU have. This college is well connected by metro station New Delhi.

Zakir Husain Delhi College is a moderate college.
Placements: In our batch, around 6 students out of 50 got direct admission for PG course at Delhi University. The college also offers various other courses. However there was no science course in the college, you can find only humanities and commerce streams.
Infrastructure: The library on the campus was up to date and we can find most of the books related to academics. The number of books that can be borrowed by a student was to 5. It was monitored electronically through a bar code. There were no hostel facilities for Zakir Hussain College, but you can find some rented rooms nearby.
Faculty: I got admission in the year 2014. There were good faculty members in our first year. Sir Rajan was an expert in ancient and maintained a strict classroom atmosphere. While sir Athar was friendly and helpful. But I got a little frustrated in the second and third year of our course. Most of the lectures were delivered in Hindi so it was a bit difficult for the one who can follow Hindi.
Other: I chose this course accidentally, however, I got vast knowledge of history after perusing history Hons from our college.

Good college with good infrastructure.
Placements: The placements of the college is average and the placements of students depends on the courses. There is a placement cell of the college, which offers a wide variety of companies for different roles. The companies that came this year for hiring were Zomato, Next Education, Paisa Bazaar and many others. But, at the end, the placements depends on the courses you are in.
Infrastructure: There are no hostel facilities in the college but apart from this, the infrastructure of the college is good and there is so much greenery in the college. The library is well maintained with proper air conditioning. The cafeteria is also very good. The conditions of the washrooms are average; I would say neither too good nor too bad. Apart from all this, there is a new building at the college, which is very good in terms of infrastructure but right now it is not open, but soon it will be open for the students.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is good; teachers are cooperative and don't burden students with assignments and tests. Though it is mandatory to give the internals, if you are unable to do so, teachers will allow you to attend the internals later, which is a very good thing. The course structure is good and updated and the exams are mostly based on the previous year's papers.
Other: There are various societies in the college like NCC, NSS, music society and various other societies in which students can engage themselves for extracurricular activities and which also provide students with the opportunity to connect with a variety of students of various courses. There are regular fests in the college, which provides the feel of college life.

I am amazingly satisfied with faculty, infrastructure, scholarships, and many more aspects.
Placements: The placements and internships percentages are low due to the arts courses but rather than that, some of our seniors got good packages in their particular Hons field. The highest package was 11 lakhs per annum, and the lowest was 4 lakhs per annum. Approximately, 40% of the students got the internship from college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is awesome especially the library and classroom with the advantages of smart classes. The library and some of the classrooms also have air-conditioners. The Wi-Fi service is also available in the large campus area. The medical facilities are also good. We have a big playground in which we can offer to play many outdoor games as well as there are many indoors games available. The canteen service is great with hygienic atmosphere, and the quality of food is best. I just found one infrastructure issue that there is no hostel facility in this college.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Even most of them are very helpful. They teach apart from their lectures in case of any confusion. The teaching methods are simple as they treat their college students as a noob, so they teach them from the basics. The student to faculty ratio is 40:1. The course curriculum is much appreciated and useful for the students future with different types of extra co-curricular subjects.

Review of Zakir Husain Delhi college evening .
Placements: There is no direct placement after pursuing graduation degree in history.
But one can opt for higher education in this particular subject and can get good placement like being a college professor or can go for the preparation of some government jobs after pursuing this degree.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average if new building will be open then the infrastructure would be much better.
There is no hostel available and the canteen is average. Library facility is there but some books are outdated and are as per the old syllabus. There is very less facility for sports .
Faculty: Faculty are good and well qualified except of few. Syllabus is as per the UGC guidelines and New Education Policy 2020.
Semester exams are not so tough one can be easily clear the exams after studying even for one month before the exams.
One needs to regularly attend the classes in order to get good marks in internal assessment .
