National Institute of Design has started the online interactions for shortlisting candidates for admission in MDes courses. Get more details about NID DAT Mains for MDes admissions 2020.
National Institute of Design (NID) has started the online interaction round for MDes admissions from today, July 6, 200. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, NID admission process 2020 was changed by exam authorities. Unlike previous years’ admission process, this year, NID is shortlisting candidates for admission based on the performance in an online interaction round. The exact date and time for NID DAT Main 2020 is mentioned on a candidate’s NID admit card. Apart from this, details regarding NID online interaction is sent on the registered email ID of eligible candidates, also.
Prior to this, candidates had to upload their SoP and Portfolio on the official website if NID entrance exam.
New NID Admission Process 2020 for MDes
NID has changed NID Entrance Exam criteria for MDes course admissions due to COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting lockdown. The first and foremost change is that NID DAT Mains 2020 is being conducted online, this year.

NID Admission Cell has also changed the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains in order to create the final result/ merit list for MDes admissions. As per the earlier shortlisting criteria, the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims for admission in all MDes specialisations was 30% and NID DAT Mains weightage was 70%. However, the new weightage allocated to each of these exams for NID admissions 2020 (for all MDes specialisations) is mentioned in the table below:

NID Design Aptitude Test is a means through which aspirants are shortlisted for admission in UG and PG design courses offered at the prestigious National Institute Design (NID) campuses. Candidates need to clear two NID admission tests in order to be eligible for admission in Bachelor of Design (BDes), Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) and Master of Design (MDes) courses offered at its campuses.

The reporting time for the DAT Prelims exam will be mentioned on the NID DAT 2025 admit card. Reach the exam center as per the reporting time. Note that latecomers will not be allowed inside the NID DAT 2025 exam center.
The gates at the exam center will close half an hour before the exam.

The National Institute of Design (NID) released the NID DAT 2025 admit card for DAT Prelims on December 24. The direct link to download the admit card is given on this page.
Note that admit cards will be issued only to successfully registered candidates.
