Exploring College Life at Saveetha School of Engineering

After securing the required rank in my JEE Advanced, I was searching for certain colleges where beside college education, I do have time to upskill myself. I came to know that there are so many universities that offer quality education, but the fee structure is different across all the colleges. Then, my friend told me about Saveetha School of Engineering, and the college matched almost all my expectations. So, I joined it.

Embarking on a New Journey: College Life Begins

After joining the college, I was a bit nervous on the first day as I did not know anyone. One unique thing about Saveetha University is that this particular university does not follow semester system. Instead, they offer every subject individually. Saveetha School of Engineering does not have any mess but we have 30 to 40 canteens. The food quality is really good here and you can find all varieties of food like vegetarian, non-vegetarian, desserts and cool drinks, among others.

Early struggles at Saveetha School of Engineering:

We went to industrial visits and learned a lot from them. My hostel journey is a lifelong memory for me that I will always cherish. After a few months in Saveetha School of Engineering, I was not getting enough time for self-learning. Due to this, I was not able to balance between college classes and self-learning. This also affected my CGPA and finally, after a lot of struggle, I pushed myself and started from scratch.

Reflections on My Second Year

In the second year, we started studying the core subjects and we had to give extra time for language skills, which increased our work load. Balancing my daily life routine with this was very difficult at that time. Me and my friends planned to form a club. We executed the plan and got all the permissions from the department heads. The name of this club was 'Aspire and Inspire' where we used to organise Hackathons and few weekly and monthly sessions to discuss student's concern on various things. Apart from this, I have also attended a few workshops for the certificates. This is my overall experience of Saveetha School of Engineering.

A:

The ST category Certificate is one of the essential documents required for the admission process, and not having a valid Certificate may lead to the rejection of your admission application. Q:   Should I take a drop for JEE Advanced?

A:
If you feel that you are not fully prepared for JEE Advanced and need more time to study and improve your skills, then taking a drop and preparing again can be a good option. This will give you more time to focus on your weaknesses, take additional coaching classes or online courses, and practice solving more problems. On the other hand, if you feel that you have prepared well and are confident about your abilities, then appearing for JEE Advanced this year may be the right decision for you. It is important to weigh the benefits and risks of each option and consider factors such as your academic goals, financial situation, and personal circumstances. Ultimately, the decision to take a drop or appear for JEE Advanced should be based on your individual situation and goals, and it is advisable to seek guidance from a trusted mentor or advisory to help you make an informed decision.
