Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College Hostels are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi internet connectivity with a total accommodation capacity of 1,500.

Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College has its own on-campus separate hostels for boys and girls. Each hostel has its own mess facility with vegetarian meals only. Hostel rooms are well-furnished with beds, chairs, study tables, cupboards, fans etc. Hostels are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity with a total accommodation capacity of 1,500. The overall atmosphere of the hostel is calm and peaceful. Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College has six hostels which are divided into four complexes- Junior Girls Hostel Complex, Girls Hostel Complex, Junior Boys Hostel Complex and Senior Boys Hostel Complex.

Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College Boys Hostel

The college has three boys’ hostels namely BH1, BH2, and BH3 with a total accommodation capacity of 900. All three hostels have the same entrance gate as the complexes are interconnected. A parking facility is also available in the boys’ hostel. 

BH1 (Boys Hostel 1)

It is a five-storey building, situated just behind the CSIT block. This hostel has a capacity of 300 students and is allotted to the first-year students of engineering and hence called the Junior Boys’ Hostel. Each room has occupancy for two students; the rooms are spacious, ventilated and well-furnished. Each room has a balcony that opens towards the football ground or senior boys’ complex. Mess, dining facility, shop and canteen are all situated on the ground floor. 

Q:   What is the seat intake for BTech at AKGEC?

There are a total of 1500 seats for all the BTech specialisations in AKGEC. The seat allotment is carried out through UPTAC counselling and based on Class 12, AKGEC score, followed by an interview round. Tabulated below is the specialisation-wise seat intake:

Q:   Does AKGEC provide a hostel facility to BTech students?

A:

Yes, Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College provides well-furnished accommodation facilities to girls and boys. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Each hostel building has a separate mess with a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area to provide nutritious and wholesome meals. Hostels also have a gymnasium along with outdoor and indoor games and sports facilities. The hostels also have a library with magazines and fiction/ general reading books, a TV room, and offers various other facilities for students. 

Q:   What is the seat intake for M.Tech at AKGEC?

A:

There are a total of 63 seats available for M.Tech courses in Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College. The highest seat count is 18. AKGEC has 18 seats each for Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. Additionally, there are 9 seats for MTech in Mechanical Engineering course. Candidates are admitted as per the sanctioned seat intake and selection criteria. It must be noted that the mentioned seat intake is as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is still subject to changes and hence, is indicative. 

BH2 (Boys Hostel 2)

It is a two-storey building situated in front of BH1. This hostel is allotted to second-year students of Engineering. It has well-furnished and well-maintained single-seater and three-seater rooms. Each room has a single entrance and two windows that open toward BH1 or Basketball ground.

BH3 (Boys Hostel 3)

It is a two-storey building constructed on a PLUS sign path, situated at the end of the campus just beside the football ground. This hostel is allotted to third and fourth-year students of engineering and first-year students of MBA and MCA. One end of the plus sign is reserved for MBA and MCA students and two ends for third-year engineering students and the remaining one is for fourth-year engineering students. This hostel has single-seater and double-seater rooms. 

Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College Girls’ Hostel

The college campus has a separate area for girls’ hostel that include faculty residence and three girls’ hostels namely GH1, GH2 and GH3. The total accommodation capacity of the girls’ hostel is around 600. Girls’ hostels have double and triple seater rooms only. Each hostel is equipped with washing machines placed on each floor for laundry. The college aims to provide convenient as well as comfortable stay with the foremost objective of ensuring the safety of the students.

Additionally, it has been rated 4.31 for infrastructure by the verified students on Shiksha platform.

GH1 (Girls Hostel 1)

This hostel is a five-storey tall building situated near a civil lawn. This hostel is reserved for first-year students of Engineering. It has well-furnished two-seater and three-seater rooms. It is also known as Junior Girls’ Hostel. Each room has a balcony that opens toward either civil lawn or GH2 or GH3.

GH2 (Girls Hostel 2)

It is a five-storey tall building situated beside GH1. This hostel is allotted to second-year students of engineering. It has well-furnished and well-maintained two and three-seater rooms.

GH3 (Girls’ Hostel 3)

It is a five-storey tall building situated at the end of the girls’ hostel complex. This hostel is allotted to third and fourth-year students of Engineering and to MBA and MCA students. This hostel also has three-seater and two-seater rooms only.

Hostel Facilities Available for Students

Hostel rooms are well furnished with chairs, cupboards, bedding, curtains, fans, etc. Each hostel has its own mess, dining hall, gymnasium, TV room, library, playground, canteen and utility shop. Furnished facilities in the rooms include curtains, mattresses, pillows, bedsheets, etc. Resident wardens are deployed at each hostel.

Thus, each hostel provides a reasonable level of comfort, hygienic food, recreation facilities and a conducive environment for academic growth as well as self-development.

Security money is refunded after the completion of the course with minor deductions to the student’s account. If a student uses coolers in summer, then they have to pay the extra charge.
