The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), a training and educational institution focused on STEM and the petroleum sector under IIT Kanpur, is located in Jais, Amethi (formerly in Raebareli), Uttar Pradesh, India. In July 2008, it was properly inaugurated.

It now holds the designation of Institute of National Importance and a governance structure resembling that of IITs, NITs, etc. From the list of students who have qualified for the Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE Advanced) Examination, undergraduate students are admitted.
