The eligibility for the CSAB special round, NEUT and supernumerary round varies. A detailed explanation of eligibility for all three rounds has been given below:

CSAB Special Counselling Eligibility 2025

Please find below the eligibility criteria for the CSAB 2025 special counselling rounds:

• Type-1: Candidates who did not register for JoSAA 2025 but meet the eligibility criteria.
• Type-2: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2025 but did not receive a seat allotment.
• Type-3: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2025, were allotted seats, but had their allotment cancelled due to non-payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF).
• Type-4: Candidates who used the EXIT option during JoSAA 2025.
• Type-5: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2025 and were allotted seats in IITs, but: a. Their seats were cancelled after document verification, b. They withdrew from their allotted seats, c. They accepted admission.
• Type-6: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2025, were allotted seats in the NIT+ system, and secured admission by paying both the SAF and the Partial Admission Fee (PAF).
• Type-7: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2025, were allotted seats in the NIT+ system, and later withdrew from those seats.
• Type-8: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2025, were allotted seats in the NIT+ system, had their seats cancelled after document verification, and were not allotted a seat in any subsequent JoSAA rounds (provided their updated credentials meet the eligibility criteria).
• Type-9: Candidates who participated in JoSAA 2025, were allotted seats in the NIT+ system, paid the SAF, and completed document verification, but had their seats cancelled due to non-payment of the PAF.

CSAB NEUT Counselling Eligibility 2025

The eligibility criteria for NEUT counselling by CSAB are as follows: 

JEE Main rank: Candidates must achieve a rank in JEE Main 2025 Paper-1 for BE/BTech programs or a rank in JEE (Main) 2025 Paper-2 for BArch programs, as applicable.

Year of passing class 12: Candidates must have cleared the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination in 2023, 2024, or 2025.

Academic criteria: The candidate should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the 12th class examination. For Architecture, the candidate should have passed the 10+2 examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed the 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate. SC/ST/PwD candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Date of birth: As per the Information Bulletin and JEE Main 2025 guidelines.

State of domicile: Students from 08 North East States (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura) and 05 Union Territories (Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Ladakh) are eligible.

CSAB Supernumerary Counselling Eligibility 2025

Eligible candidates for the CSAB supernumerary counselling include those who met the criteria for JoSAA-2025 / CSAB-2025 Special Rounds based on their JEE (Main) 2025 ranks and have their State Code of Eligibility as the UTs of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Additionally, candidates without a valid allocated seat in the NIT+ system by the end of all rounds of JoSAA/CSAB-2025 are also eligible.

The CSAB counselling registrations are conducted separately for special counselling, NEUT, and supernumerary counselling. Eligible candidates need to access the registration link on the official website when the respective counselling rounds commence. The registration process for all three types of counselling is conducted online at csab.nic.in and begins with logging in using the JEE Main 2025 application number and password. Subsequent steps in the process differ depending on the type of counselling.

Step 1: Login with JEE Main Details

• Access the CSAB special counselling registration link and choice filling on the official website.
• Now, login with the JEE Main application number and password.

Step 2: OTP Verification

• Authenticate using the OTP sent on the JEE Main registered mobile number and email.

Step 3: Review and Submit the Details

• Next, check the details made available in the CSAB form fetched from JEE Main//JEE Advanced/JoSAA.
• Submit the details and confirm the registration.

Step 4: Pay Fee (If Any)/Document Verification

This step will vary depending on the type of counselling — special/NEUT/supernumerary. Candidates must upload any required document or pay the applicable fee. After this step, registration ends, and candidates can proceed to choice filling.

All eligible candidates are required to do a fresh registration online for participation in Special Rounds through the CSAB portal (https://csab.nic.in) as per the schedule. Earlier registration done on the JoSAA portal is NOT valid for CSAB Special rounds.

All eligible candidates should register on the CSAB portal (csab.nic.in) as per the schedule. For admission to Engineering/Architecture programs, eligible candidates should log in using the roll number of JEE Main 2025 and the Password created during JEE Main registration. For admission to the Pharmacy course, eligible candidates will be required to create the login/password through the separate link available on the CSAB portal.

Documents to be uploaded by the candidates:

1. Any photo ID proof
2. Admit Card of JEE Main 2024 (Not applicable for Pharmacy)
3. Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth
4. Certificate and Marks sheet of the qualifying examination.
5. Certificate of Category/sub-category/caste/sub-caste as applicable, issued by the competent authority
6. Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and/or Unique Disability Identity Card (UDID), if applicable.
7. Proof of place of examination centre in case of the final qualifying examination is from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School (NOS).
8. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)/Domicile, if applicable
9. Medical Certificate
10. Declaration/ Undertaking from the Candidate
11. Undertaking by the Parents/Guardian (Annexure-V) xii. Special Benefit claim certificate (if applicable)
12. Any other documents as desired by the respective DTEs of States/UTs/NERIST

All eligible candidates must register online through the CSAB portal at csab.nic.in according with the provided schedule. Please note that prior registration in JoSAA or any CSAB Special Round is not valid for the CSAB 2025 Supernumerary Round.

• Eligible candidates are permitted to register only once on the CSAB Supernumerary portal.
• Candidates should log in using their JEE (Main) 2025 Application Number and the Password from JEE (Main) 2025 or the updated Password from JEE Advanced, JoSAA 2025, or CSAB Special Round, whichever is most recent.

For candidates whose documents were not verified in the NIT+ System during JoSAA or CSAB Special Rounds, the following updates can be made during online registration:

• Only Indian Nationals are eligible for the CSAB Supernumerary Round.
• Gender can be updated from any to any.
• The State of Eligibility (the location where Class XII or its equivalent was first taken) can be updated from any to any.

After CSAB counselling 2025 registration is complete, candidates must submit their choice of engineering branches and institutions in decreasing order of preference. Candidates must remember the following points before entering their choices: 

• As per eligibility, rank, the number of seats available and disciplines offered, a list will be displayed. 
• Enter as many as the number of choices as you can following your preference. 
• Candidates can reorder choices, edit earlier filled choices or add new choices as many times as they like before locking in final choices. 

Note: If a candidate fails to submit his/her choices in the prescribed time, his/her previously filled choices will be considered final.
