Q: Â Who will conduct WBJEE counselling?
The authorities of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will be responsible for the WBJEE counselling process. The details regarding how the WBJEE counselling will be held will be announced by the authorites on the official website. WBJEE counselling will be held online for all qualified candidates. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's obtained WBJEE rank, preferences and seat availability. JEE Main scores will also be taken into consideration for seat allotment.
Q: Â Can I change the date and time of WBJEE counselling?
No. The candidates will not be allowed to change the date and time of WBJEE counselling. Since the counselling dates will be pre-determined by the authorities, they will not accept any requests to change the WBJEE counselling dates and slots. WBJEE counselling will be held online for all eligible candidates. The authorities will also announce the WBJEE seat allotment online. However, the candidates will have to confirm their admissions physically at the allotted institutes.
Q: Â When will WBJEE 2025 counselling be held?
WBJEEB has not yet announced the WBJEE 2025 counselling dates. Candidates are advised to check the official schedule of WBJEE counselling 2025 so that they do not miss out on any important event. All qualified candidates will have to complete the WBJEE 2025 counselling registration process before the final date. After the final date, the authorities will not accept any requests from the candidates.
WBJEE 2025 Counselling Process
WBJEE 2025 counselling will be conducted as an online process. The authorities will not use any other mode to conduct the counselling. Candidates will have to participate in the WBJEE counselling process following the given steps.Â
Step 1: Registration - For the WBJEE 2025 counselling registration, the candidates will have to visit the official website wbjeeb.nic.in and click on the respective link. To be registered, the candidates will have to provide the required details.Â
Step 2: Choice Filling - Â After logging in, the candidates will have to fill out their choice of colleges and courses. The selection of courses and colleges has to be done in the order of preference. This is important since the order of preference will be considered for allotment. All candidates will have to lock their choices before the final allotment. If the candidates fail to lock their choices, then their last saved choices will be used for allotment.Â
Step 3: Fee Payment - All candidates will have to pay the WBJEE 2025 counselling fee of INR 500. The fee has to be paid online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. The candidates have to note that the counselling fee will be non-refundable and the authorities will not accept any other mode of payment.
Step 4: Seat Allotment - The authorities will announce the WBJEE 2025 seat allotment result online. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences, category and seat availability. All of the selected candidates will have to confirm their admission by paying the seat acceptance fee and reporting to the centres for document verification. Verified candidates will have to pay the provisional admission fee (mentioned below) at the reporting centre.

Step 5: Report at the Allotted Institutes - The allotted candidates will have to get their documents verified at their respective institutes. After the documents are verified, the required tuition fee has to be paid by the candidates.

- All rank holders – 10th admit card/birth certificate for verification of date of birth

To download the WBJEE counselling letter, the candidates will have to log in using the required credentials. In case, the candidates have trouble accessing and downloading the counselling letter, then they can try to log out and then log in again. If the problem still persists, the candidates are advised to check their internet connection for any issues. If there is no internet connectivity issues, then the candidates are advised to immediately contact the authorities to fix the problem.

WBJEE 2025 Counselling - Round 2
During Round 2 of the WBJEE 2025 seat allotment, the candidates who selected up-gradation in the first round of counselling will be considered. However, those candidates who were allotted their first choice during the first round of WBJEE counselling 2025 will not be considered eligible for the up-gradation process. Up-gradation candidates willing to take admission into their allotment will have to report to their Reporting Centres (RC) during the second round of WBJEE 2025 counselling. The candidates will be allowed to change their up-gradation status from "Yes" to "No" during the second round of WBJEE seat allotment but not from "No" to "Yes".Â
Q: Â Which candidates are not eligible for the second round of WBJEE counselling?
There are certain candidates who will not be eligible to participate in the second round of WBJEE counselling. Firstly, those candidates who have been allotted their first preference in Round 1 of WBJEE counselling will not be allowed to participate in the next rounds. Candidates who have not registered for the counselling process in the first round will also not be eligible for the second round. However, unregistered candidates will be able to register and fill out their choices for the mop-up round of WBJEE counselling.
Q: Â Is it possible that I won't get the college of my choice in WBJEE counselling?
During the counselling process, the WBJEE seat allotment will depend on various factors related to the entrance examination. The authorities will allot seats to the candidates according to their obtained WBJEE/JEE Main rank, preferences, category and seat availability. Since the order of preferences is an important factor in the seat allotment process, the candidates are advised to submit as many choices as possible during the WBJEE counselling registration process.
Q: Â What should I do to become eligible for second counselling? No seat was allocated to me in WBJEE in first counselling.
Candidates who are not allotted any seats during the first round of WBJEE counselling will automatically be eligible to participate in the second round. No separate registration process has to be done to participate in the second round of WBJEE counselling. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, submitted preferences, category and seat availability. These candidates will also be eligible to participate in the mop-up round, where they can edit their choices for allotment.
WBJEE 2025 Counselling - Mop-Up Round
Eligible candidates will be able to participate in the mop-up WBJEE 2025 counselling after paying an additional fee of INR 200. However, unregistered candidates will have to pay INR 1000 as the fee to participate in the mop-up round. During the mop-up round of counselling, the candidates will be able to modify their already-filled choices. WBJEE 2025 seat allotment result for the mop-up round will be announced soon. The following candidates will be eligible for the mop-up round of WBJEE 2025 counselling.
- All candidates allotted seats, paid seat acceptance fees either in Round 1 or 2, but not taken admission.

WBJEE counselling mop-up round is an additional round of counselling that is held to fill out the vacant seats. All registered and unregistered candidates who have qualified WBJEE will be eligible for the mop-up counselling. To participate in the mop-up round, the candidates will have to register and fill out their choices. For fresh registrations, a fee of INR 1000 has to be paid online. Candidates who have participated in the previous rounds have to be pay an additional fee of INR 200. The registration process also has to be completed before the final date.

Yes. Candidates will be allowed to freshly register for the mop-up round of WBJEE counselling. After the completion of the first two WBJEE counselling rounds, the candidates will be able to register for the mop-up round online. For fresh registrations, INR 1000 has to be paid. Other candidates will have to pay a fee of INR 200 online to be registered for the mop-up round. Already registered candidates will also be able to edit/modify their previously filled choices. The process has to be completed before the final date, that will be announced online by the authorities.

Q: Â What is WBJEE General Merit Rank?
WBJEE GMR is the General Merit List released by WBJEEB for admission to all the courses available in all enlisted Engineering and Technology Colleges and Universities within the state of West Bengal. The list will be prepared based on the candidate scores obtained in all the subjects (i.e. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) in WBJEE 2025. Ranking in the GMR WBJEE merit list will be prepared in descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects as stated above. However, there may also be ties and in such cases, the tie breaking rule shall be applicable for determining the merit rank.
Q: Â Will I get colleges in my city during WBJEE counselling?
Along with the ranks, the allotment of colleges also depends on the availability of seats in the colleges that the candidates have opted for during the WBJEE counselling process. Once the ranks are announced, the candidates can check the previous years' admission cutoff details of their preferred institutes. The cutoff trends can help the candidate's make their decision regarding the order of preference for colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling process.

Q: Â How many seats are reserved for WBJEE TFW category?
Tution Fee Waiver (TFW) category seats are reserved for those candidates for economically backward students who have a good academic record. 5% TFW seats, which are supernumerary in nature will be available for admissions into the WBJEE 2024 participating institutes. The TFW rank in various institutes will be considered for admissions. WBJEEB will announce the details regarding the TFW category reservations, once the application and admission process commences.
Q: Â Is it necessary to have a provisional 12th standard certificate during the WBJEE counselling?
During the WBJEE counselling, the provisional 12th standard certificate is not essential. However, the candidates will be required to submit the 12th standard qualifying certificate when they are reporting at their allotted institute. If the candidates are unable to submit the document within the time allotted by the authorities, then their admission might get cancelled. Candidates are advised to check the list of documents to know what has to be presented during their admission confirmation process.
