APSET cut-off 2024 has been released by Andhra University along with the result. The APSET cutoff marks 2024 have been released subject-wise and category-wise. The APSET cutoff 2024 has been displayed category-wise for General, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, SC and ST. The aggregate percentage of Paper 1 and Paper 2 corresponding to the number of slots is taken as the APSET cut-off marks for a particular subject. A total of six per cent of the appeared candidates are declared qualified in the exam for the post of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the state universities. These 6 per cent candidates are distributed among various categories as per the reservation policy, such as - BC-A (7%), BC-B (10%), BC-C (1%), BC-D (7%), BC-E (4%), SC (15%), ST (6%). In each category, 33.33% of Women category and 4% of PWD candidates are given reservations vertically. Based on the APSET Results 2024, candidates are provisionally declared qualified in the exam, subject to fulfilment of the eligibility conditions.

Q:   What are the cut-off marks for APSET 2024?

A:

The APSET cut off marks 2024 have been released along with the results. However, candidates need to obtain the APSET qualifying cutoff marks to clear the exam. General category candidates need to secure at least 40 per cent marks and reserved category candidates need to obtain a minimum of 35 per cent marks in both papers combined together to qualify the exam and get into the merit list for Assistant Professor/Lecturership. As per the APSET result 2024 criteria, six per cent of the appeared candidates have been declared qualified for the APSET exam for eligibility as Assistant Professor /Lecturer.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in APSET?

A:

No, there is no negative marking in the APSET exam. In the APSET exam, Paper 1 and Paper 2 combinedly contain 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Paper 1 comprises 50 questions of 100 marks and Paper 2 comprises 100 MCQs of 200 marks. Each question is of 2 marks. However, there is no negative marking for wrong answers or unattempted questions in the APSET exam.

The APSET exam consists of two papers to be attempted in three hours. The marking scheme of the APSET is as follows:

  1. Paper one, which is general paper, consists of 50 questions.
  2. Each question on this paper is worth two marks.
  3. The maximum mark in this paper is 100.
  4. Paper two is the subject paper, which consists of 100 questions.
  5. The questions in this paper are also worth two marks each.
  6. The maximum score on Paper 2 of the APSET is 200.
  7. There is no negative marking for any wrong answer in this exam.

The purpose of the APSET exam is to certify qualified applicants for the positions of assistant professor and lecturer. This is a state-level exam for the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is administered by the Andhra University of Visakhapatnam. There are 30 subjects in total for which you can apply, including life sciences and law. The duration of the exam is 180 minutes for two papers. The marking and question patterns are in line with the UGC NET exam. You can attempt this exam in either English or Telugu. The exam fee is Rs 1200 for general applicants, Rs 1000 for BC applicants, and Rs 700 for other applicants. Since it is a state exam, you can only apply for positions in Andhra Pradesh colleges with APSET scores.
