APSET 2025: Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, will soon release the notification for the conduct of the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) exam 2025. The Andhra Pradesh SET exam will be conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor/ Lectureship, subject to the fulfilment of APSET Eligibility Criteria 2025. The APSET notification 2025 will be released soon. Candidates will have to submit their APSET applications to appear for the exam. The exam will be organised for 30 subjects in eight regional centres of the state. The AP SET exam date will be announced in the notification itself.

What is APSET?

Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) is conducted by Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professors or Lecturers in the colleges and universities of the state. The exam is conducted for a total of 30 subjects as mentioned below.

The APSET 2025 exam will be held soon. Andhra University, Visakhapatnam carries out the APSET exam in eight regional centres across the state. The Andhra Pradesh SET exam is conducted for 30 subjects. The APSET Paper 1 is common for all and for Paper 2, candidates need to choose a subject from the list of 30 subjects. APSET Eligibility 2025

Have a look at the detailed APSET eligibility criteria 2025 below:

  • General/ Unreserved/ General-EWS category candidates with at least 55 per cent marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination are eligible to apply for APSET exam. Reserved category candidates such as BC/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third gender category candidates with at least 50 per cent marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this exam.
  • Candidates pursuing a Master’s degree or equivalent or have appeared for their Master’s degree (final year) examination and are waiting for the result may apply for the exam. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally.
  • PhD degree holders whose Master’s exam was completed by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks, they need only 50 per cent to appear in SET.
  • Candidates need to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only.

APSET Age Limit 2025

There is no APSET age limit 2025 for appearing in the exam.

APSET Eligibility for Third-Gender Category

Third-gender category candidates will enjoy the same relaxation in fee, age and eligibility criteria as available to SC/ ST/ PwD categories. The subject-wise qualifying APSET cut-offs for Third-gender category will be the lowest among those for SC / ST / PwD / BC / General-EWS categories in the corresponding subject.

Yes you can appear for the APSET exam again If you fail to clear the exam. There is no limit on the number of attempts in the APSET examination. Candidates who have already cleared the APSET exam and still want to improve their scores can also reappear for the exam. The APSET exam is conducted every year by the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam to determine the eligibility of candidates as Assistant Professor or Lecturers in Universities and Colleges of the state.

APSET Selection Process 2025

APSET selection process includes the following steps:

Step 1: Fill AP SET Application Form

Aspirants need to fill out the APSET application form on the official website of the exam. The application process for the APSET exam will be complete only when candidates fill in all their educational details, and personal details, upload their passport-size photograph as well and pay the APSET application fee before submitting it.

Step 2: Get AP SET Hall Ticket

Candidates can download their APSET Hall Ticket from the official website of the exam by providing their registration number and date of birth.

Step 3: Appear for APSET

Aspirants need to appear for the APSET exam as per the date, time and venue mentioned on their Hall Ticket. The APSET exam consists of two papers. While Paper 1 is common for all aspirants, Paper 2 consists of questions from the stream/subject selected by the candidate. The minimum qualifying marks in the APSET exam are as follows:

APSET Cutoff 2025

The APSET cutoff 2025 will be released along with the result. The cutoff marks will be displayed category-wise separately for each subject. The aggregate percentage of both papers corresponding to the number of shifts is taken as the APSET cut-off for a particular subject. Candidates can follow the given steps to check the cutoff:

As per the APSET result criteria, six per cent of the appeared candidates have been declared qualified for the APSET exam for eligibility as Assistant Professor /Lecturer. These 6 per cent candidates would be distributed among various categories as per the reservation policy, such as - BC-A (7%), BC-B (10%), BC-C (1%), BC-D (7%), BC-E (4%), SC (15%), ST (6%). In each category, 33.33% of Women category and 4% of PWD candidates are given reservations vertically.
