Q:   I have cleared the CSIR NET exam for Lectureship. Am I also eligible to be considered for JRF?

A:
Yes, if you have cleared the CSIR NET exam for Lectureship, you are also eligible to be considered for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) provided you meet the eligibility criteria for JRF. This is because the CSIR considers candidates who qualify for Lectureship as also eligible for JRF. However, it is important to note that the number of fellowships available for JRF is limited, and the fellowship is awarded to candidates based on their performance in the exam and other eligibility criteria. Therefore, qualifying for Lectureship does not guarantee the award of JRF. To be eligible for JRF, a candidate must: Qualify in both Paper I and Paper II of the CSIR NET exam. Be less than 28 years of age as on the last date of application (for General and OBC candidates). Relaxation in age is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms. Meet the educational qualification criteria as specified by CSIR. Meet other eligibility criteria as specified by CSIR. If you meet the above criteria, you can apply for Junior Research Fellowship through the CSIR NET exam.
