Q: What is the exam pattern for CTET?
Q: Is there any negative marking in the CTET exam?
No, there is no negative marking in the CTET examination. Candidates are awarded one mark for every correct answer in the exam and there is no deduction for wrong answers or unattempted questions. The reason behind the 'no negative marking' policy is that the CTET is an eligibility exam and not a recruitment exam. The CTET exam is conducted in two levels- Paper 1 is for candidates interested in teaching classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 is for candidates interested in teaching classes 6 to 8. Both the papers consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) wherein each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking in the exam, which implies that candidates are not penalized for choosing the wrong option as their answer. It is advisable that candidates should focus on attempting as many questions as they can in the CTET exam to achieve a high score. It is important that candidates must avoid guessing and attempt questions with high accuracy.
Q: Will CTET be conducted online or offline?
The CTET 2024 exam will be conducted offline in pen and paper mode. The CTET exam is held every year to determine candidates' eligibility for appointment as teachers in Central Government Schools such as KVS, NVS, and others. Until 2020, the CTET exam was held offline in pen and paper mode. From 2021 onwards, the exam was being held online wherein candidates were required to mark their answers on the computer. However, the exam will now be held offline again, as per the official notice.
