HTET exam pattern 2024 is prescribed by the Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH). The HTET 2024 exam comprises three papers- Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. The HTET Level 1 is for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5), Level 2 is for Trained Graduate Teachers - TGT (Class 6 to 8) and Level 3 is for Post Graduate Teachers (Class 9 and 10). The HTET exam pattern differs for all three levels. As per the HTET paper pattern and structure, the exam is held offline in pen-and-paper mode. Candidates are allotted two hours and 30 minutes to attempt the HTET question paper comprising 150 MCQs of one mark each. Candidates should be fully aware of the latest HTET exam pattern 2024 to know the structure of the question paper.

Q:   What are the qualifications required for HTET exam?

The candidates who wants to appear for the HTET exam must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by Board of Secondary Education Haryana (BSEH). The HTET eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Level 1 (PRT for Classes 1 to 5): Class 12 pass with at least 50 per cent marks along with Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed)
  • Level 2 (TGT for Class 6 to 8): Bachelor’s Degree with D.EI.Ed or BEd
  • Level 3 (PGT for above Class 8): Master’s Degree along with BEd

Q:   Will I get recruited as a Government school teacher after qualifying for the HTET exam?

No, qualifying the Haryana Teaching Eligibility Test (HTET) does not ensure job as a Government school teacher. HTET is only a eligibility exam that verifies that the candidates qualifying for the exam is eligible to teach in schools. To get recruited as a teacher in Haryana Government schools, the HTET qualified candidates have to appear for the teacher's recruitment exam conducted by the Haryana State Government.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of the HTET exam?

The marking scheme of HTET exam is as follows: - The HTET 2024 exam consists of multiple-choice questions, where each question carries one mark. - There is no negative marking for incorrect answers, which means that candidates do not lose marks for wrong answers. - The HTET exam has a total of 150 questions, and the maximum marks that can be scored are 150.

To qualify the HTET 2024 exam, candidates need to score a minimum of 60 per cent marks, which means that they need to score at least 90 marks out of 150. However, the content of the papers is different, and candidates need to appear for the paper that is relevant to their desired teaching level.

Q:   Is HTET Certificate valid for a lifetime?

The HTET certificate is now valid forever. Ramesh Pokhariyal, Indian Education Minister has announced that the validity of the TET certificate is extended for a lifetime. Earlier the validity of the certificates was 5 years. Candidates qualifying for the HTET exam will be the first batch of candidates with a lifetime HTET certificate.
