What is the difference between an IAS and PCS officer? Which profession is more beneficial?

Indian Administrative Services, abbreviated as IAS, are actually the civil based administrative services of the Government of India. The officers that are designated as IAS are the ones that relate to the policy making of our nation and relates to the complete bureaucracy of the Union Government that covers both the two forms, that is the Central as well as the State government. The officers are selected through one of the most meticulous entrance exam conducted within our country, the Civil Service. Provincial Civil Services, abbreviated as PCS, are actually the civil based administrative services of the State Government. These officers relate to the policy making of the state to which they belong. These officers are also selected through an entrance test conducted by the state based Public Service Commission. The exams for the post of PCS are conducted at the state level, where candidates that are the domicile residents of that state are only allowed to appear in the entrance exam. Can an average student crack IAS?

A. The IAS exam is an open platform with no limitations for the average student. There is no minimum percentage of marks required in the graduation course to appear in the IAS Exam. The Union Public Service Commission is expected to release the UPSC IAS 2024 result for the 2023 session soon on its official website soon. The Commission will release IAS results in the form of the UPSC Toppers list pdf. The Commission will release the UPSC CSE 2023 Toppers list with the result. UPSC mark sheet of IAS toppers will be released after the final result.

How to Download the IAS Mark Sheet?

Go to the official website of UPSC - upsc.gov.in
Click on the Examination tab given in the top navigation
Click on the marks information link given in the drop-down list
Log in with the required credentials
Download the IAS mark sheet and save it

The marks in the compulsory language papers are disclosed for those candidates only who did not qualify in the language paper itself and hence the other papers are not evaluated. The language papers are of three hundred marks and the commission set up qualifying marks.

For the candidates who did not qualify for the IAS Main exam, the marks scored in the IAS prelims are also provided. In the IAS prelims, Genera studies paper II (CSAT Paper) is qualifying only and the candidates need to score only 33% marks. Some candidates could not score the qualifying marks and fail in the IAS prelims exam. IAS mark sheet is the only means to know about such failures.
