The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection(IBPS) mentions the IBPS PO selection process in the official notification. The IBPS Probationary Officers are selected through the (competitive) IBPS PO exam conducted every year by IBPS. The IBPS PO selection process consists of three stages namely 

  1. IBPS PO Prelims exam
  2. IBPS PO Mains exam 
  3. IBPS PO Interview

The IBPS preliminary stage is qualifying in nature and the marks secured in prelims are not considered for the final merit list. Candidates appearing for the IBPS PO exam are selected based on their scores in the mains exam and interview. The IBPS 2024 selection process will start with the release of an official notification. The IBPS PO 2024 was conducted on October 19 and 20, 2024.

IBPS PO Selection Process 2024 Stages

The complete selection process of IBPS PO is explained below.

Release of application form

IBPS PO application process begins after the release of notification. Interested candidates need to fill IBPS PO application form online. The application fee is INR 850 for General and OBC while it is Rs 175 for SC/ST/PWBD. Any graduate candidates can apply for the exam.

How to apply online?

  • Visit the official website of IBPS
  • Click the ‘New Registration’ link on the home page
  • Enter the required details for registration
  • Registration number and password will be generated
  • Upload the prescribed documents
  • Fill in basic details, bank preference, exam centre, work experience, and educational qualification
  • Preview the application form and correct the details if any
  • Submit the application form
  • Pay the application fees
  • Take printout of fee receipt

IBPS PO Admit Card

IBPS PO admit card is released separately for prelims, mains and interviews. The admit card for the prelims exam is issued to all the registered candidates. IBPS PO admit card for the mains exam is issued to candidates qualifying the prelims exam. The call letter for the interview is issued to candidates qualifying the mains exam.

IBPS PO Exam

IBPS PO exam is divided into prelims, mains, and interview. The prelims and mains exams are conducted online. The prelims exam comprises objective-type questions. The mains exam contains objective and descriptive test.

IBPS PO Result

Candidates need to login with registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. The scorecard is released a few days after the declaration of result.

The provisional allotment is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the mains exam and interview.

Candidates need to bring the following documents in original and their self-attested copies during interview:

  • Printout of the valid Interview Call Letter
  • Valid system generated printout of the online application form
  • Proof of Date of Birth
  • Photo Identify Proof as indicated 
  • Marksheet or certificates for Graduation or equivalent qualification, etc.
  • Caste Certificate (If Required)
