KARTET Exam Date 2024: The Government of Karnataka announced KARTET result 2024 on August 9, 2024. Candidates can download the Karnataka TET Result by logging into the official website with the required credentials. Along with the result, the KARTET certificate was issued. 

The Department of School Education, Karnataka released the KARTET Notfication 2024 on April 15, 2024. KARTET Notification was released by the Department of School Education, Karnataka, on the official website. Along with the notification, KARTET Application Form 2024 was also released on the official website. Interested candidates could fill out the KARTET Online Form 2024 from April 15 to May 15, 2024.

KARTET 2024 Exam was conducted by the Department of School Education, Karnataka, on June 30, 2024. Those Candidates who are interested in the vacancy details & completed all eligibility criteria can read the Notification & Apply Online. The KARTET exam dates highlight the important events of the exam such as the release of notification and application form, issue of admit card, the conduct of the exam, declaration of result, etc.

Q:   How many questions are asked in KARTET exam?

KARTET (Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test) exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four options and a single correct answer. The total marks for both papers are 150, with each question carrying one mark. The distribution of questions and marks in each paper is as follows :-

  • Paper 1: The 150 MCQs are divided into five sections, with 30 questions in each section. The sections are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. 
  • Paper 2: The 150 MCQs are divided into five sections, with 30 questions in each section. The sections are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language 1, Language 2, Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies/Social Science.

It is important to note that each question carries equal weightage, and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. Candidates must score a minimum of 60% marks to qualify the KARTET exam.

Q:   Is the KARTET exam conducted on a single day?

Yes, the KARTET exam is conducted on a single day but in two different shifts. The details of the KARTET exam shifts has been given below for the candidates:

  • Shift 1 is conducted from 10:00 am-12:30 pm for KARTET Paper 1
  • Shift 2 is conducted from 2:30-5:00 pm for KARTET Paper 2

However, the shift timing can be changed by the board. Though, the candidates will be informed by the board before if any changes are made for the KARTET exam.

Q:   Is there any age criteria to apply for the KARTET exam?

Candidates should be a minimum of 18 of age in order to be eligible to apply for the KARTET exam. There is no upper age limit for the KARTET exam. The educational qualification to apply for the KARTET exam has been given below for the candidates:

Primary

  • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
  • Graduation with BEd (final year appearing or passed)

Upper Primary

  • Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd
  • Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and a one year BEd
  • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks with a four-year BElEd

Q:   How many papers does one need to give to qualify the KARTET exam?

A:

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify KARTET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for KARTET Paper 2. Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to qualify both papers. The candidates have to apply for the papers according to their eligibility set by the board. The educational qualification criteria has been given below for the candidates:

  • Paper 1
