RBI Grade B 2024 Recruitment: Online Form, Vacancies & Eligibility

The candidates who want to appear for the RBI Grade B exam must fulfill the educational qualification eligibility criteria for the RBI Assistant exam: 

a)The candidates who want to appear in the RBI Grade B exam must have completed graduation

b) The candidates have to secure the minimum percentage to appear for RBI Grade B exam

Any graduate candidates between 21 and 30 years can apply for RBI Grade B exam. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates belonging to the reserved categories.Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline or have equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or postgraduation in any discipline/equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 55 per cent marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years. The educational qualification vary as per the department. Candidates belonging to General Category/EWSs who have appeared six times for phase 1 exam for this in the past are not eligible to apply. There is no restriction for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories.

No, candidates should not send the printout of the RBI Grade B application form and e-receipt. However, candidates must keep the printout of the application form and fee receipt for future reference. They should keep the printout of the application form and fee receipt till the completion of recruitment process. Candidates need to fill the application form of RBI Grade B online. The application fee for the exam is INR 850 for General/OBC and INR 100 for SC/ST/PwBD, can be paid online only. The application process of RBI Grade B comprises registration, uploading the scanned photograph and signature, filling the detailed application form, uploading left thumb impression and handwritten declaration, previewing the application form, paying the application fees and final submission.

RBI Grade B vacancies were announced for 2023. A total of 291 vacancies have been announced. Out of the total vacancies, 222 vacancies are for General post, 38 are DEPR and 31 for DSIM post. A total of 294 vacancies were announced for RBI Grade B 2022 exam. Out of the total vacancies, 238 were for Grade B General post, 31 were DEPR and 24 were for DSIM posts. The post-wise RBI Grade B 2022 vacancy break-up is given below.

RBI Grade B exam is conducted online only for General post. The Paper 1 of RBI Grade B exam is conducted online and carries questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. The Phase 2 of RBI Grade B exam is conducted online. In Paper 1 of Phase 2 exam, candidates need to answer the questions in the descriptive paper with the help of the keyboard. In Paper 2 and 3 of Phase 2 exam, candidates need to type the descriptive answers with the help of the keyboard. Candidates opting to type the answers in Hindi in the descriptive test can do so with the help of either Inscript or Remington (GAIL) keyboards layout. RBI Grade B exam for DEPR and DSIM is conducted online and offline.

RBI Grade B exam pattern is such that it is divided into Phase I, II, and Interview. The Phase 1 comprises subjects such as General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The total marks allotted to the exam are 200. The duration of the test is 120 minutes. The language of the question paper is English and Hindi. Phase II comprises Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The Phase 2 exam carries 300 marks. The duration of Paper I and III are 120 minutes (30 minutes for the objective test and 90 minutes for the descriptive test) while Paper-II is held for 90 minutes. All papers of Phase II, except the English Language, are set in English and Hindi. The interview carries 75 marks.

RBI Grade B exam comprises both objective and subjective type questions. The prelims exam carries objective-type questions whereas the Mains exam carries both objective-type and descriptive-type questions. The prelims exam carries questions from General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The Mains exam carries questions from Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The standard of questions asked in RBI Grade B exam is of graduation level. The total marks allotted to the Phase 1 exam are 200. The Phase 2 exam carries 300 marks. The interview carries 75 marks. Candidates need to be thorough with the exam pattern inorder to clear the exam.

The standard of RBI Grade B syllabus is of the Graduation and Postgraduation levels. RBI Grade B syllabus for Phase 1 comprises subjects such as General Awareness, Reasoning, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude. RBI Grade B Phase 2 syllabus comprises topics such as Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English and Paper-III: Finance and Management. RBI Grade B salary structure is decided including several allowances, perks and benefits. The gross salary is INR 1,08,404 incluiding allowances, perks and benefits. The pay scale of RBI Grade B is INR 55,200-2850 (9)-80850-EB-2850 (2)-86550-3300 (4)-99750 (16 years). RBI Grade B Salary structure is given below.

• For candidates having high academic educational qualifications, RBI at its own discretion considers granting up to four advance increments
• The bank, at its own discretion, shall consider requests for higher emoluments because of higher qualification/special experience at the interview stage only
• The number of increments will be a maximum of four
• RBI will not entertain any request received after the interview
