RPF Constable syllabus 2022 will be officially mentioned in the official notification. The candidates can see here the previous year's syllabus so that they can prepare for all the topics given in the syllabus. There is no weightage or importance of topics mentioned in the official syllabus. The candidates need to check and solve the previous year's question papers to get a real feel about the topics and the difficulty level of questions. The syllabus in consonance with the previous year's question paper and cutoff can clearly define the level of preparation required to get selected for the exam. 

RPF Constable syllabus is prescribed by the Ministry of Railways. RPF Constable syllabus only lay down the outline in the form of topic names. It does not define the various aspects of the topic. The only official line mentioned in the syllabus is that the questions will be of the Class 10 standard. The candidates must prepare each and every sub-topic of the topics given in the syllabus from the standard textbooks.  This will be the first and foremost step towards the preparation for the RPF Constable exam. By getting acquainted with the syllabus, candidates can know the topics they need to cover under each subject. RPF syllabus comprises subjects such as General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test paper of the RPF Constable exam comprises 120 questions and the total marks allotted to the test are 120. 

RPF Constable Exam Pattern

Before going deeper to understand the syllabus, the candidates must see the exam pattern. RPF Constable exam pattern is divided into Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification (DV). The question paper of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) is framed in 15 languages-Hindi, English, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Odia, Assamese (14) Manipuri and (15) Punjabi. For the correct answer, candidates score one mark. 1/3 marks are deducted for the wrong answer. Candidates need to obtain 35 per cent (30 per cent for SC and ST candidates). Candidates 10 times the number of vacancies are called for Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Document Verification (DV). Maximum two rounds of PET/PMT.

Arithmetic

This section aims at assessing candidates’ Numerical Ability skills.

Questions in this section are framed to assess a candidate’s Mental Ability and General Intelligence.

This section carries total 50 marks. Questions are asked from the following topics:

  • General Polity, Indian Constitution

  • Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large
  • Common Abbreviations

RPF Constable Syllabus for General Intelligence & Reasoning

This section carries total 35 marks. Questions in General Intelligence and Reasoning are asked from the following topics:

RPF Constable Syllabus for PET/PMT

Based on the merit of candidates in the CBT, candidates are called for PET/PMT. The test is qualifying in nature, however, it is mandatory to pass PET/PMT. No marks have been assigned for PET/PMT.

Constable (Male) 5 min 45 secs - 14 feet 4 feet
Constable (Female) - 3 min 40 secs 9 feet 3 feet

Note:

  • For 1600/800 meters event, only one chance is given. For the remaining events such as Long Jump and High jump, the candidates are  given up to two chances each
  • Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from PET, however, they need to undergo PMT
  • All candidates qualifying in 1600 mtrs/800 mtrs, are measured for eligibility with respect to height and chest. Chest measurement is taken only for male candidates. If a male candidate’s unexpanded chest measurement is below eligibility limit, expanded measurement is not taken and he is treated as disqualified
  • Male candidates who do not have minimum height are not considered for measurement of chest and treated as disqualified
  • Candidate who does not have minimum height, chest (unexpanded/expanded) are treated as fail in PMT
