SSC MTS Syllabus 2024: Paper 1 Syllabus PDF Download

The General Awareness syllabus for the SSC MTS exam includes topics such as:

The candidates should note that the SSC MTS syllabus will be notified in the official notificatin of the exam. The Staff Selection Commission does not mention the weightage of the topics within the sections. The candidates are suggested to prepare all the topics mentioned in the official syllabus. The candidates need to check the previous year question papers to know the level of question paper and the difficulty level of the questions.

The Commission is expected to release the SSC MTS 2024 notification online on May 7, 2024. 

The Commission conducts the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST) for the Havaldar post. The Commission mentions the requirements for the PET/PST in the official notification. Besides this, the commission also mentions that some categories of PwD are exempted from PET/PST. There is Walking event in the SSC MTS PET. In SSC MTS PST exam, the Commission mentions the physical measurements related to the male and female candidates. Cycling is removed from the PET.

The SSC MTS PET/PST is conducted by the designated authority nominated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Staff Selection Commission revised the SSC MTS syllabus in 2022. The Commission removed the SSC MTS paper 2 from the selection process. The Commission conduct the SSC MTS exam as per the revised syllabus since 2023. The SSC MTS paper 2 was qualifying only.

The candidates can easily crack the SSC MTS exam without coaching. There is nothing in the SSC MTS syllabus which is difficult to prepare. It is not essential to join a coaching institute to prepare for the SSC MTS exam. SSC MTS Paper 1 has four sections, namely

• Numerical Aptitude
• General Awareness

The candidates are suggested to practice with the previous year's question papers to know the difficulty level of the exam and the important topics from where the questions have been asked.

The Staff Selection Commission does not release the SSC MTS syllabus pdf separately from the official notification. The candidates are required to chalk out the syllabus from the official syllabus. The candidates are required to copy and paste the topics mentioned in the official syllabus. The candidates will be required to cut the official notification pdf and prepare the syllabus pdf.

The SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) and SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) exams have some similarities in their syllabus, but there are also differences in terms of subjects and exam patterns.

The SSC MTS and SSC CHSL exams are both conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and are objective-type, computer-based papers.

They share similarities in the subjects they cover, such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, English Language, and General Awareness

However, there are also differences in the syllabus and exam patterns:

SSC MTS: The SSC MTS exam has two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is an objective-type, computer-based paper.

SSC CHSL: The SSC CHSL exam has three tiers - Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. Tier 1 is an objective-type, computer-based paper, while Tier 2 and Tier 3 are descriptive papers.

In summary, while there are some similarities in the syllabus of SSC MTS and SSC CHSL, there are also differences in the exam patterns and paper structures. Candidates can simultaneously prepare for both exams as they share some common subjects, but they should be aware of the specific differences in their syllabus and exam patterns.

The Staff Selection Commission mentioned the minimum qualifying marks that will render the candidates eligible for selection in the SSC MTS exam. These minimum marks are required to get eligible for the selection. The Commission released the percentage required to get eligible for selection:

The candidates should note that the Staff Selection Commission changed the SSC MTS exam pattern in 2022. The Commission dropped the tier 2 exam from the exam process and now there is only one online exam which decides the selection of the candidate.  The total marks of the SSC MTS 2024 Tier 1 exam will be 270. There will be 90 questions and each question will be 3 marks. The total duration of the SSC MTS 2024 Tier 1 exam will be 90 minutes. 

The SSC introduced sections in the SSC MTS Tier 1 exam in 2022. The SSC MTS paper 1 is divided into two sections. One section employs the negative marking for the candidates. There is a partial negative marking in the paper.

The Staff Selection Commission changed the SSC MTS Tier 1 exam pattern and introduced partial negative markings in the SSC MTS Tier 1 exam. The Commission also changed the number of questions asked in the exam. The Commission divided the paper into two parts and fixed a separate timeline for each session. The Commission can see below the SSC MTS Tier 1 paper sections and the questions associated with each session:

The candidates are required to score marks equal to or more than their category cutoff to get selected for the exam. There are no such passing marks which can ensure selection. SSC MTS exam is a competitive exam and the candidates can be selected even when they score low marks if the overall cutoff is decreased.

The Commission prescribes the minimum qualifying marks for the candidates. The Commission prescribes certain minimum marks required for a candidate which make them eligible to get selected in the exam.
The minimum qualifying marks for the SSC MTS exam are defined for each category separately which are summarised below:

The Staff Selection Commission will mention the SSC MTS exam pattern in the official notification. The Commission will mention the paper structure and the marks assigned to each question. The candidates should note that there is only one paper in the SSC MTS exam that will be Tier 1 (paper 1) only. The Commission changed its exam pattern in 2022 and removed the tier 2 from the exam process.

The Staff Selection Commission changed the SSC MTS exam pattern altogether. The Commission removed the Paper 2 (descriptive) from the selection process. Now there are only two stages in the SSC MTS exam. These are mentioned below:

• SSC MTS Paper 1
• PET/PST for Havaldar Posts

The Document Verification process will be carried out by the indenting user department. In addition to above, the Commission changed the SSC MTS Paper 1 exam pattern and removed negative marking from the Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving section The SSC MTS Paper 1 was conducted as per the new exam pattern in April 2023.

SSC MTS 2024 recruitment will start with the release of the official notification. The SSC MTS 2024 notification is expected to be released online on May 7, 2024. The Commission will provide one month to fill out the SSC MTS application 2024. The last date to apply for the SSC MTS 2024 exam will be June 6, 2024. The Staff Selection Commission is expected to release the tentative answer key online within a week of the exam. The SSC MTS recruitment 2024 will be over after the appointment letter is issued to the candidates.

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC MTS 2024 notification on June 27. The Commission also released the SSC MTS 2024 application with the notification. The candidates will be required to fill out the SSC MTS application online on the official website - ssc.gov.in. The last date to apply online for the SSC MTS 2024 exam is August 3, 2024.

The Commission also increased the SSC MTS vacancies through an addendum. The Commission mentioned all the important information such as the SSC MTS vacancies 2024, dates, eligibility, age limit, syllabus, exam pattern and the rules which will govern the conduct of the examination.

The Commission activated the SSC MTS 2024 apply online link with the release of official notification. The last date to apply for the SSC MTS 2024 exam was extended by the Commission and the last date to apply online for the SSC MTS 2024 is August 3 now. The Staff Selection Commission will also provide the facility for SSC MTS 2024 application correction on August 16 and 17.

The Staff Selection Commission also increased the SSC MTS vacancies from 8,326 to 9,593 vacancies. The SSC MTS 2024 exam is expected to be conducted in October/November 2024.

A: SSC CGL syllabus will be defined separately for all the tiers of exam. The important components of the SSC CGL syllabus is:

The SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus has the following sections.

The SSC CHSL syllabus is the key to CHSL preparation. The syllabus for SSC CHSL lays the foundation for exam preparation. The SSC CHSL syllabus differs for Tier 1 and Tier 2. SSC CHSL exam syllabus includes important topics from English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness for the Tier-I exam. The SSC CHSL Tier-2 involves the following three sections having two modules each: Section-I: Module-I: Mathematical Abilities Module II: Reasoning and General Intelligence. Section-II: Module-I: English Language and Comprehension Module II: General Awareness Section-III: Module-I: Computer Knowledge Test Module-II: Skill Test/ Typing Test.

The candidates should refer to the standard books for each of the sections given in the SSC MTS syllabus. Lucent GK is a good book that can be referred to for the General Awareness apart from NCERT. The candidates should learn all the facts given in the Lucent GK. These facts will help in the factual questions in the SSC MTS exam. Apart from the Lucent GK, the candidates should prepare the Current Affairs to score better in the exam.

The candidates should also read the newspaper to check the current government schemes which can be asked in the SSC MTS exam.

The SSC MTS paper 2 can be called as a skill test. The candidates need to write a short essay or a letter in the stipulated time of 30 minutes. The official notification mentions that is intended to test elementary language skills in view of categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.

The Staff Selection Commission removed the SSC MTS Paper 2 from the selection process since 2022. The Commission amended the English syllabus after such removal. 

The educational qualification required to apply for the SSC MTS 2024 exam is Matriculation only. The candidates who have passed the Class Xth can apply for the exam. The candidates appearing in Class X can also apply for the exam but they need to provide their Class X pass Certificate during the document verification process having date prior to the last date of application. Beside that, the candidates must have attained 18 years of age.

The Commission also added the Havaldar posts in the official SSC MTS notification making it SSC MTS and Havaldar examination. The education qualification required for the Havaldar post is matriculation only.
