The first and foremost thing to do is to read and analyse the previous year's question papers. TNPSC question paper gave a clear understanding of the demand for the exam. The candidates should start with the newspaper and monthly competitive magazines. The daily notes preparation of the factual information given in the newspapers is a must for the TNPSC Group 4 preparation. The candidates need to prepare all the topics as given in the official TNPSC Group 4 notification. The names of the topics are mentioned in the official syllabus but the name of the topic does not explain the efforts required to prepare the topic. The candidates need to prepare all the topics of the TNPSC Group syllabus separately so that they can score better even when the paper is balanced one or skewed towards one section.

The candidates are suggested to prepare all the topics mentioned in the official TNPSC Group 4 2024 syllabus along with their inter-relationships. Yes, the TNPSC Group 4 exam is a statewide exam. All the candidates from the state can apply and appear for the exam.
