Normalisation method for calculation of cut off
The cut off is calculated based on the normalisation process. This method is followed since the examination is conducted in multiple shifts and the difficulty level of question paper varies. The formula of normalisation is given below:
Xn = S2/S1 x (X-Xav) + Yav
S2 is the Standard Deviation of the shift with the highest average score taken as the base for normalisation
S1 is the Standard Deviation of the corresponding shift (To be scaled to S2)
X is the raw score of the candidate
Xav is the simple average of the candidate shift
Yav is the average corresponding to shift with the highest average taken as the base for normalisation
