Satisfied with the college and placements are excellent.
Placements: In 2023, there were 120 students in the ECE department, out of which 116 students participated in placements. Around 56 students got salary package of over 10 LPA. Placement cell is good. Recruiting companies like Texas Instruments, Samsung, and L&T offer high salary packages.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in labs and classrooms. Library is good. Sports event is conducted, which is good. I don't stay in a hostel, but from what I have heard from my friends, it's worth joining. There are some negative comments as well.
Faculty: Faculty is excellent. The course curriculum is good. There is a CIE which is internal and SEE which is a semester-end exam. After the semester-end exam, there is two to three weeks' holiday for students, which is good. After every semester, there is one to two months' holidays.
Other: Fests and events are organized every month. College life is awesome.

Good infrastructure and faculty members .
Placements: 90% of students were placed last year. The highest package offered was 48 LPA, and the lowest was 8 LPA. The average package was 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Infosys, JP Morgan, etc. 85 percent of students got internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: So there are basically two campuses. One is north and the other is south. Students who choose EEE, ECE, civil, and mechanical have to go to the south campus, while students who choose CSE, AIML, and ISE have to go to the north campus. Labs are there for each subject, and the library is vast with study material books, novels, and more reference books.
Faculty: The faculty members are quite knowledgeable and qualified. They teach in an interesting way. The course curriculum is good. It makes the students industry-ready. The teaching quality is also good. Semester exams are not that difficult. We can pass them easily. The pass percentage is probably around 95 percent.

My college life was average with difficult curriculum and average placements
Placements: About 90 percent students are usually placed every academic year from our batch. Highest package was 34 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Texas instruments, National Instruments, Samsung Nokia, Deloitte, Bosch, Cisco.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is mediocre with basic facilities available. Campus life is little boring as the fests and events conducted here are not that grand. It is an academic oriented college with more exposure towards course and curriculum. Sports facilities are also not that great.
Faculty: Faculty is quite good most are PhD holders. They have good understanding over concepts and very dedicated and committed while they are teaching and encourage students to take part in many core club events so that they will get good exposure towards the subject knowledge.

Why you should do mechanical engineering in NIE Mysuru!
Placements: I am student of mechanical engineering from NIE Mysuru; our class strength was 180 with 3 sections out. 180 students and 150 students got placed in campus placements; the highest package was 15 LPA, the lowest was 4 LPA. The top companies for mechanical engineering was lam research, Mercedes-Benz, Daimler struck, Being, Schneider Electric, Dassault Systems, etc. Various roles offered were graduate engineer trainee, design engineer, young innovator, etc.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure of the college is very good, with good lab facilities but Wi-Fi is not available in classrooms. The library was good with fine infrastructure, and the hostel facilities were average. Sports and game facilities were there but the food was not up to par.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and supportive during project work, and also faculty members are well qualified and some of them were from IT. Making students industry-ready is a quite challenging task but to some extent, our college has done a great job by teaching us various software used in the industry for example, SolidWorks and Ansys. These 2 programs are used in the mechanical design industry. Some colleges won't teach you these programs, but our college did. The semester exams are quite tough and the faculty are very strict about them.
Other: I chose this course because I am fascinated by mechanical engineering. The things I wish to improve in our course are that instead of sticking to a conventional way of teaching, they should use a practical approach because students will have good theoretical knowledge but not practical knowledge. The college conducts events regularly.

Good faculty, okay infrastructure; placement is now a bit less but back in the day it was great.
Placements: Around 60% of students from my course (seniors) are placed. The placement department head has a great number of contacts for the placements but due to student performance in the last few batches, the number of companies coming has decreased a bit. The placement coordinators are trying to bring in more companies. The highest package offered in our course is around 20 LPA, and the lowest is around 4 to 5 LPA. The top recruitment companies are Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, BMW, and Being. Almost 80% students got internships at companies like Being, BMW, Mercedes, Bosch and many more.
Infrastructure: There are many labs for almost everything, they are well maintained and the trainers also have nice experience and teaching is good. The classrooms are good too, and have smart boards. The benches in the class are too comfortable; a class can have around 60 students. The library has a nice environment and has a variety of books to refer to for your studies. There is also a computer in a separate room in the library for your other research. The library is also well-equipped with books that can be borrowed but have to be returned by the due date or pay the fine.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They have a lot of experience. Some are a bit strict but that's in other courses, while others are friendly and helpful. The quality of teaching is also good. Yes, the course is curriculum relevant and the college also provides students with different curriculum courses to make them industry-ready. The semester-end exams are a bit difficult. You might feel that they are giving you less time to prepare. In the beginning, I felt certain subjects were difficult in the first semester itself and a number of people scored less. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I got the course so I just went with it. Things to improve will include helping the students pass a bit. And there was a time when the portions were not completed but still, the staff just went on with it, didn't listen to students and made us write the exam. So these kinds of things should be avoided for the best of the students because we know what we go through if we don't get proper marks. Other things, like events, festivals, and crowds, are fantastic. You will make great memories and 1 tip is to enjoy as much as possible in the first few seems because the last seems to be hectic. Although do keep in mind that you have to keep your CGPA high from the start itself because you never know when and how it will drop if it does.

I am satisfied because of faculty and people in Mysore are very good.
Placements: Around 81% were placed last year, and the highest salary package offered was 51 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Volvo, Infosys, Mercedes-Benz, and many others. There are good placement opportunities in our college, especially for core branches. Top roles offered are developing engineering and testing engineering.
Infrastructure: Food is good, and all sports equipment are available. There is scope for sports in our college. Mess and canteens are fully cleaned and hygienic in our college. Food is also tasty in our college. Still, some medical facilities should be better.
Faculty: Teachers are fully friendly with students and their teaching style is also good and understandable. Course curriculum is very good and it also helps in building students' skills practically and theoretically. Semester exams in our college are a bit difficult and pass percentage is 6.5 CGPA.
Other: I was interested in ECE branch. Still, use of technology should be better. There are fewer events in our college and campus crowd is average.

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of NIE Mysore?

A:
{Source: B.Tech students & alumni]

NIE Mysore offers a well-rounded campus life for its students, with multiple sports grounds and coaching available, as well as a moderately busy calendar of college events. The mess food is of acceptable quality and hygiene standards. Attendance policies are strict, but there are no language challenges and diverse locational backgrounds are represented. Academic life is relatively hectic with frequent exams and practical teaching methods using case studies. There is a well-stocked library and research resources available. Security measures include guards and CCTV cameras, and outsider entry is allowed with permission. Ragging is strictly prohibited, and leaving the hostel premises requires authority permission. All modes of transport are available from the campus, making it accessible to students.

Sure, I can assist you with that! Based on the five reviews provided, here's my analysis of the overall infrastructure of the college:

The college has a mix of both modern and outdated infrastructure. Review 1 highlights the presence of state-of-the-art labs, including hydraulics, concrete testing and CAD facilities, which suggests a strong focus on practical learning. Review 3 also mentions upgraded lab equipment and e-library facilities, indicating a commitment to providing students with access to cutting-edge technology.

However, some reviews indicate that not all areas of the college are equally well-maintained. Review 2 notes that sports facilities are lacking and Review 5 describes the classrooms as having old asbestos sheet roofing and outdated wiring. Additionally, Review 5 expresses dissatisfaction with the condition of the lab instruments, suggesting that they may not be adequately maintained.

Overall, it appears that the college has made significant investments in certain areas, such as technology and laboratory facilities, but may need to address maintenance issues and improve the quality of facilities in other areas.

Summary: The college has a mixed bag of infrastructure, with modern facilities like labs and e-library, but also some outdated and poorly maintained areas, such as classrooms and sports facilities.

Q:   Can I get admission in NIE Mysore for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th?

A:

Securing admission to NIE Mysore for B.Tech with 60% in Class 12th alone is challenging but not impossible, and the exact possibility depends on several factors:

Entrance Exam:

  • For Karnataka domicile candidates: Your KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) score and rank will be the primary determining factor. While 60% in Class 12th doesn't guarantee a high KCET score,  strong performance in the exam can significantly improve your chances.
  • For all Indian candidates: Your COMEDK UGET (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental colleges Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test) score will play a crucial role. Scoring well in COMEDK UGET becomes even more important with a 60% Class 12th score.

Program and Category:

  • Different B.Tech programs at NIE Mysore have varying cutoff scores,  with popular programs like Computer Science or Electronics & Communication Engineering typically demanding higher scores compared to others. Additionally,  reservation policies for different categories (General, OBC, SC/ST) affect cutoff scores,  offering you potential advantages based on your category.

Other Factors:

  • Competitive Entrance Exam Scores: While not the primary criteria,  performing well in entrance exams like JEE Main (especially for specific programs) might be a deciding factor in competitive admission scenarios.
  • Class 12th Subject Scores: Good marks in relevant subjects like Physics,  Chemistry,  and Mathematics in Class 12th can strengthen your candidacy.

Q:   What is the minimum cutoff for M.Tech at NIE Mysore 2023?

A:

NIE Mysore currently hasn't released the official minimum cutoff scores for M.Tech programs in 2023. The college typically announces these cutoffs after the GATE exam scores are declared and the admission process commences.

However, based on previous year's data and general trends, here's an approximate range of minimum cutoffs you can expect for M.Tech at NIE Mysore:

  • General Category: This category often requires a GATE score above 600 for most M.Tech programs,  with highly competitive programs like VLSI Design or Computer Science & Engineering potentially demanding score above 700.
  • Other Categories (OBC, SC/ST): These categories usually have lower cutoff scores compared to the General category. Generally,  a GATE score above 500 might be sufficient for some programs,  while others might require scores closer to 600 depending on demand.

Keep in mind:

  • These are just estimated ranges based on past data. The actual cutoffs for 2023 might differ slightly depending on various factors like the number of applicants,  program popularity,  and score distribution in the GATE exam.
  • Some M.Tech programs at NIE Mysore might have additional qualifying criteria beyond GATE scores,  like minimum academic qualifications or personal interviews.
