NIT JSR has been awarded a rank band of 101–150 by NIRF 2023 among the top Engineering institutes in India. NIT Jamshedpur (National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur) is one of the top-ranked Engineering institutes in Jharkhand.
The National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur was earlier known as the Regional Institute of Technology. The institute was established in 1960 as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Bihar. NITJSR is given the status of Institute of National Importance. The deemed university is recognised by AICTE and MHRD. NIT JSR has 11 departments that offer various UG, PG, and PhD courses across Engineering, Science, and Humanities streams.
