A pretty good campus life. But dissatisfied with the culture.
Placements: The placements in NIT Jamshedpur are pretty good, especially in the metallurgy branch. Mass hiring is done by most of the core companies; that's why the placement rates are good. Companies like Vedanta, Tata Steel, and JSL, JSPL—all these companies do mass hiring and give the decent package of 12-13 LPA. The average package varies from 12 to 15 LPA. Last year the placement rate in metallurgy was 100%. The job roles offered by the company are mainly of management. All these companies also offer internships, and they offer PPO if you work accordingly.
Infrastructure: The hostels in NIT Jamshedpur are really good, while the lecture has some problems, but it can be ignored. The classrooms are good enough to occupy at least 150 students. The library is also good. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. There is a gym and different courts and grounds for different sports. The mess is pretty decent, not too good nor too bad. The hygiene is maintained.
Faculty: Some faculty on the campus are not that cooperative, but some are extremely good. They help students in internships and placements too. Yes, all the teachers are highly qualified, holding many research papers. The course curriculum is also relevant. They also include subjects like organizational behavior to make students industry-ready. But the semester exams are scheduled very badly, not giving enough time to prepare.

An honest review of NIT Jamshedpur.
Placements: There is too much good placement in CSE of NIT Jamshedpur. In our college, almost 85% of graduating students get placed every year. The average package offered is 18.00 LPA for the 2024 graduating batch. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, De Shaw, etc. In my course, almost 80% get placed in the 2024 year. Almost 25% got internship offers.
Infrastructure: There are different types of facilities available in my college. There is a lab for every course in every department. Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Mess food is above average. It can be improved. Many sports facilities are available in my college. Every piece of equipment required is provided to the students. In our college, the library is the second-largest in Asia.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. The course curriculum is very relevant. It makes the student industry-ready. There are two types of exams in our college - one is the mid-term exam and the other one is the end-term examination. The mid and end-term exams are not so difficult. Students can easily pass the examinations if they follow the teacher and read wisely. The pass percentage is 90+.
Other: I chose the course because I like Physics so much. One thing that is best about my course is there is so much practical knowledge about it. There are many types of fests conducted in my college. One of the most famous fests is SRIJAN - the biggest cultural fest. It is organized in March. Another one is Concetto.

All About NIT Jamshedpur by a 2nd year student.
Placements: Placements are pretty decent here. The average package offered for this course was 25LPA in the previous year with the highest of 83 LPA. Top Recruiters were Atlassian, Amazon etc. 30% students got internships in Computer Science department in the above companies. The roles offered in Computer Science are that of software engineer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent. The main lecture hall is awesome with all the facilities like Wi-Fi, projector, big classrooms and everything else. The hostels are nice with decent buildings. In this college, you get a single room from 2nd year onwards and a double sharing room in the first year.
Faculty: The faculty is similar to the other colleges. They don't care to teach, neither are the students interested in learning because the course structure is totally outdated and not useful. Their way of teaching is also horrible. The semester exams are not really tough, you can easily pass them with 1 week of efforts getting good grades.

Average faculty with great campus placement.
Placements: In our previous batch, about 90% of students were placed. The highest package was 19 LPA, and the lowest was 6 LPA. Many companies come for recruitment, with Tata Steel and L&T being the most frequent recruiters. Around 60% of students get internships, with the most common position being GET.
Infrastructure: NIT Jamshedpur has well-maintained infrastructure and excellent hostels. There are seven hostels, four for boys and three for girls. The mess food is the worst. The entire campus has Wi-Fi, and in the hostels, there is also LAN, so there are no internet problems. Water and electricity are available 24/7.
Faculty: The faculty members are knowledgeable, and some are very friendly. However, they lack teaching style and seem to just go through the motions. The curriculum is relevant, but it doesn't prepare students for the industry. There isn't much hands-on experience, and some faculty members are not there for the students. Semester exams are difficult, and professors will fail us if we don't write anything on the paper.

    Nostalgic NIT Jamshedpur.
Placements: Around 60%-70% of my college students were placed. The highest placement was provided by Rubrik, followed by Atlassian, Adobe, Amazon, Flipkart, Arcessium, etc. Talking about internships 40 to 45 of our batch students got internship opportunities under different companies.
Infrastructure: Our college provides LAN connection with a good speed of internet connectivity. Recently, Wi-Fi was also been added. It has central library with most of the teaching-related resources. In our hostel, all other facilities were fine except for the water facility. I hope by the time I am writing this, the issue have sorted.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite knowledgeable and qualified but not very helpful. Most of them are rude and egoistic with students, especially during examinations and when discussing report marks. They do not show any concern. If anyone relies on the college curriculum for job-related preparation, they will end up with no placement since the curriculum is not updated and well-structured.

    Exploration of NIT Jamshedpur.
Placements: Placements eligibility begins in the seventh semester, with internship opportunities available from the fifth semester for both grades. Over 250 companies visited the campus, making more than 750 offers. The highest package offered was 83 LPA by Atlassian, and the average CSE package stood at around 26 LPA. Almost 98% of students secured placements.
Infrastructure: In the first year, double-occupancy rooms are provided, while subsequent years offer single-occupancy bedrooms. The mess provides a variety of food with average quality. Residence in the college campus hostel is mandatory unless the student is the president of Jamshedpur. Various clubs organize additional fests. The library is well-stocked, and classrooms are equipped with centralized AC, projectors, whiteboards, blackboards, and comfortable seating.
Faculty: The faculty-student ratio is favorable, with highly qualified professors, some of whom are among the top 2% scientists globally. Term exams are well-timed, following the academic calendar, with mid-Sem exams carrying 30 marks and end-Sem exams carrying 50 marks. The difficulty level is reasonable, and diligent studying can yield decent scores.
Other: The college has a fee remission policy benefiting economically weak students. Depending on the annual income, tuition fees are partially or fully remitted. SC and ST category students are exempt from tuition fees.
