Physical geography is divided into five major topics – biogeography, geomorphology, hydrology, pedology, and climatology. These five topics are further divided into various subtopics. BA/BSc in Physical Geography: BA or BSc in geography is a six-semester course completed in 3 academic years. A BA or BSc in Geography includes both the branches of geography – physical and human geography. A BA degree is a humanities or arts subject that is expansive, whereas a BSc degree is a science subject that focuses on specific subfields and specialisations in those fields.

MA/MSc in Physical Geography: Students can pursue an MA or MSc degree in geography. It is divided into four semesters that are completed in 2 academic years. To pursue MA in geography, one must hold a bachelor’s degree in geography or a bachelor’s degree with geography as one of the subjects. However, to pursue MSc in geography, one must hold a BA or BSc degree in geography.

Entrance Exams for Physical Geography
To apply for any entrance exam for BA in physical geography, the students need to have completed a 10+2 examination from a recognised school board with a minimum of 50% marks.
