Mystory@Arunima Mukherjee: How I selected my college and course

Mystory@Arunima Mukherjee

When I was in my standard XII, I studied Psychology at an additional subject. I found the subject interesting as I had always been curious in knowing about what went through the minds of different people. Soon, I realised that Psychology is not only about reading people's mind; it involves observing an individual’s behavior and then analysing the same. I wanted to know more about the subject. Gradually, I started taking a lot of interest in the subject and concentrated only on Psychology and didn't pay heed to any other subjects. As a result I scored poorly in my terminal examination. It was then that I thought of managing my studies and I devoted equal time to all the subjects. However, I couldn’t score very well in my ICS examination, may be because I could not pay much attention to my favourite subject, Psychology.

How I cracked college admission

When it was time to select a college, my first preference was Amity University, Kolkata.  I always wanted to study in an International University. I got support from my parents, they didn't force me to get enrolled in any government college. As mentioned earlier, I couldn't score well in my board examination and I had to appear for an aptitude in Amity University. I appeared for the test and scored well. Soon, I received a call from Amity University that I had been selected and could go ahead with the admission process. That was my most memorable day of my life. After all I was stepping on the right path to fulfil my dream. Then I got enrolled in Amity University, Kolkata and now it has been almost 7 months that I am a member of this renowned Institution. I feel proud to carry this brand on my shoulder.

I have got a very supportive family in Amity University, Kolkata.

What I gained from my college experience

Firstly I would like to like to say that it has not even been a year that am studying in this University. It has only been a few months and I am extremely happy to be a part of this University. Here the faculty is just like our friends. They teach in such a manner that their students score well. Nevertheless, these mentors not only teach us, but also sit and chat with us – we can even share out secrets with them. I have got a very supportive family in Amity University, Kolkata. Most importantly, the University provides a lot of opportunities to the students where they can showcase their talents. Many events have been organised by the University in these few months. I too took part in many events and got certificates too. Being a member of Amity family, if any of my junior asks for my suggestion while selecting a college, I will suggest them to join Amity University.
