Ashoka Aptitude Test 2025 -Â The applications for the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT) 2025 are now open. Ashoka Aptitude Assessment is a national-level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate programmes offered at Ashoka University, Sonipat. As per the Undergraduate Admissions Calendar for August 2025 intake, the test will be conducted in 3 rounds on December 8, 2024, January 25, 2025 and May 4, 2025. The first round of applications end on November 27, 2024Â while the second and third rounds applications close on January 15, 2025 and April 25, 2025. More than discipline-specific knowledge, AAT is designed is designed to test the thinking skills of Ashoka University's potential students. What is Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT)?
The Ashoka Aptitude Test or Ashoka Aptitude Assessment tests students on their problem-solving skills and critical-thinking skills. Through AAT, Ashoka University offers BA/ BSc programmes where students can choose a major from a set of 9 pure or 8 interdisciplinary subjects. In addition, candidates can choose two co-curricular courses and a minor (optional) from a range of disciplines. Ashoka Aptitude Test 2025 Admission Process
The step-wise admission process through the Ashoka Aptitude Test 2025 is provided below.Â
Step 1: Registration
To apply for AAT 2025, candidates must register on the university's official website with a valid email ID. The login details for the AAT application form will be emailed to the candidate on the registered email ID. All communications from Ashoka University will be sent to the aspirant’s registered email ID.
Step 2: Fill Out the AAT 2025 Application Form
Candidates will have to fill out the application form for Ashoka University admissions online. The AAT application form is free of cost. Applicants are advised to carefully and thoroughly check the details being filled in. Along with the application form, students must also upload some required documents.Â

Step 3: Take the AAT
Next up, candidates will be informed about the test dates, timings, etc. on the contact details they have provided during the application process.Â
The AAT has two parts -Â
- AAT: The AAT will be conducted in online mode and questions will be based on problem-solving skills (including numerical and spatial reasoning) and crucial thinking skills (including understanding arguments and reasoning using everyday language). The AAT has 40 MCQs.
- On-The-Spot Essay:Â The examinees will be given 30 more minutes to write a short essay of about 650 words. The essay questions may be based on current affairs, social issues or situations, etc.Â
Step 4: Appear for Interview Round
The next round of the selection process is a personal interview. Students will be questioned on both academics and personal skills. Ashoka University will conduct panel interviews in order to shortlist aspirants for admissions for the academic year 2025-26. Once applicants go through the interview round they can expect to receive one of the following communications:
- Firm offer of admission
- A conditional offer of admission
- Waitlisted (possibility of an offer at the end of the admissions cycle or earlier)
- Deferred (possibility of an offer after receiving final class XII scores)
- Denial of admission
Step 5: Check Ashoka University Admission Result
Ashoka University will release a list with the names of candidates who will be shortlisted for UG admissions. Candidates whose names appear on the admission list will have to deposit an amount of INR 2,60,000 to confirm their acceptance of admission before the deadline.

While admission to Ashoka University is determined by a student's academic performance, extracurricular involvement, and other holistic considerations, financial aid is solely determined by the family's financial situation. In order to cover the estimated cost of the course, a candidate's ability to pay is evaluated based on the numerous financial resources accessible to their immediate family, including current income, savings, investments, and education loans. The College Board will annually, around the end of April, recognise Indian students who have received a SAT score of 1300 or higher as top performers. The top performers are eligible to receive a full tuition scholarship for the entire duration of their programme of study at Ashoka University. Also, they need to demonstrate significant financial need, which is defined as family income less than INR 8,00,000 per year, and receive a firm offer of admission from Ashoka University. Once the eligibility criteria is met, candidate can receive anywhere from a 25% waiver on tuition to a 100% waiver on the total fee.

Yes, students awaiting their final high school results can apply for the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment. However, they will have to produce their results to the university when received. The university will not reject such candidates unless the results are declared.
Q: Â How to apply for Merit Cum Means Scholarship at Ashoka University?
Ashoka University offers Merit Cum Means scholarship for exceptional Undergraduate students intending to major in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics or Computer Science at Ashoka. A total of 25 scholarships will be awarded in addition to the need based financial aid available to all students, of which 5 of candidates will receive a waiver of 100% on tuition fee and residence, and remaining 20 will receive a waiver of 100% on tuition fee. Candidates can refer to the steps below to apply for Merit Cum Means scholarship:
- Candidates shortlisted based on the cut-offs will receive an invitation to apply for the Merit Scholarship.
- As a part of the scholarship application, candidates will be required to submit a form with a Statement Of Purpose (SOP), along with the latest Income Tax Return of their parents/guardian. This application form will be open for 5 days.
- A scholarship committee will further shortlist candidates based on the quality of their SOP and assessment of family income. Candidates shortlisted at this stage may also need to appear for a personal interview with the committee.
- Successful candidates will receive either a 100% waiver on Tuition Fee or a 100% waiver on Tuition and Residence depending on their overall performance in the selection process.
