Sequences and series of real numbers. Convergent and divergent sequences, bounded and monotone sequences, Convergence criteria for sequences of real numbers, Cauchy sequences, absolute and conditional convergence; Tests of convergence for series of positive termscomparison test, ratio test, root test, Leibnitz test for convergence of alternating series. Functions of one variable: limit, continuity, differentiation, Rolle's Theorem, Cauchy’s Taylor's theorem. Interior points, limit points, open sets, closed sets, bounded sets, connected sets, compact sets; completeness of R, Power series (of real variable) including Taylor's and Maclaurin's, domainof convergence,  term-wise differentiation and integration of power series. Functions of two real variable: limit, continuity, partial derivatives, differentiability, maxima and minima. Method of Lagrange multipliers, Homogeneous functions including Euler's theorem.

The PUCAT 2025 admit card will tentatively be released towards the end of June 2025 while the exam is likely to be conducted in July 2025.

PUCAT is usually held in three shifts -

First Shift- 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Second Shift- 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Third Shift- 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. 

The Purvanchal University Combined Admission Test (PUCAT) is conducted by the Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University in order to offer students admission in various postgraduate courses. The exam is conducted annually and it is through qualifying PUCAT, that candidates are granted admission to the varsity. Through PUCAT, candidates can get admission in MBA, MA and MSc courses. The mode of the exam is offline and the medium of the entrance exam is English.

In order to seek admission in MSc Biochemistry candidates will be required to apply and appear for the Purvanchal University Combined Admission Test (PUCAT) to get admission to the university. Yes. Candidates can apply for MA through PUCAT if they have completed their BA in Political Science. In order to pursue MA through PUCAT, candidates are required to meet the required eligibility criteria. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for the MA at the official website of the exam as well on Shiksha page. The candidate should be a graduate from any stream and should have secured a minimum of 45% in their graduation from a recognised board.
