Factors affecting AILET 2025 Cut off

Before looking at the previous years' cutoffs, let us check the various factors that affect the AILET cut off every year:

  • Difficulty level of the question paper: Tough question paper may lead to lower cut off and an easy or moderate question paper may result in higher cut-off
  • Number of candidates appeared for the exam: More the candidates in AILET exam, the higher is the cutoff for the exam
  • Average performance of candidates in the exam: The better the candidates perform in AILET, the more is the cut off for the exam and vice-versa
  • Total seats for the BA LLB/LLM course: NLU Delhi has limited seats for BA LLB and LLM courses, therefore, the cut off is usually high
  • Category of candidates: The cutoff for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC, ST, PwD and KM is typically lower as compared to the cutoff for General/Open category candidates

Q:   What has been the difficulty level of AILET exam for last five years?

A:

The difficulty level of AILET exam can be considered moderate to difficult. The exam is designed to test the candidates' knowledge and understanding of various subjects of law and general knowledge. The level of difficulty may vary from year to year, and it largely depends on the preparation and understanding of the candidates. However, candidates who are well-prepared, have a strong understanding of the subjects, and have practiced enough questions are likely to find the exam easier to crack. To prepare for the exam, candidates should focus on understanding the concepts and fundamentals of each subject, solving practice questions and previous year papers, and managing their time effectively during the exam. It is also important to stay calm and composed during the exam and avoid getting stuck on difficult questions, as it may affect your overall performance.

Q:   Is AILET cutoff for all categories the same?

A:

No, AILET Entrance Exam cutoff is released separately for the various categories. For instance, the cut-off is available for categories like Open, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PH categories. Note that open category candidates will not be considered for admission under reserved category seats. However, candidates belonging to reserved category will be considered for admission under both open and the reserved category they belong to. To be considered for admission under reserved category, the candidate must furnish the required category certificates. AILET 2023 Expected Cut-off

According to candidates who took the AILET 2023 exam, the cut-off this year could be between the range of 80-90 marks.

The students remarked that the question paper this year was easier compared to the last edition. However, considering the exam pattern was changed this session, the cut-off won't get affected that much.

Note that for AILET 2023, the Logical reasoning section was merged with the English language section, which confused a lot of candidates.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in AILET?

A:
Yes, for each wrong attempt 0.25 marks are deducted from the total scores. Since, one mark is allotted for each question, candidates will score 1 mark for their correct attempt, however, if their answer is incorrect, they will lose 0.25 marks from the total score. They will, however, be given 0.75 marks for wrong attempt too. The final scores obtained by the candidates will be as under: Correct attempts minus 0.25 x wrong attempts = total score out of 100 Note: In case, candidates leave question unattempted then the exam authority will neither add any marks or deduct any marks from their total scores.
