About NLU Delhi Admissions 2025

The law institute, NLU Delhi conducts its own law entrance exam known as the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for admissions. Candidates seeking admission to BA LLB, LLM and PhD courses have to appear in AILET as well as fulfil the eligibility criteria as under:

Eligibility Criteria

BA LLB (Hons)

Candidates should have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks. 

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for admission, however, they should submit the proofs at the time of final admission.

LLM 

Candidates should have passed a three-year LLB or a five-years LLB degree from any recognised law school in India with at least 55% marks (50% marks if belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories). 

Those appearing in the final year examination of their bachelor degree are also eligible to apply. But, they should submit the proof at the time of final admission.

PhD 

Candidates should have passed an LLM degree from any recognised law school in India with at least 55% marks (50% marks if belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories). 

NLU Delhi First Year Admission Fee for BA LLB Course

Candidates shortlisted for admissions to BA LLB (Hons.) course at NLU Delhi have to pay the first year admission fee as under:

Q:   What is the last date for AILET 2025 registration?

A:

The last date for the AILET 2025 registration for BA LLB, LLM and PhD in Law courses will be the same. The last date to fill out the AILET 2025 registration form is November 18, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill out the registration form at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.

Once the AILET registration process is over, candidates will have to download their admit card. The AILET 2025 admit card will tentatively be released in the fourth week of November 2024 on the AILET website or portal, nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. The admit card will only be provided those candidates who complete the registration process and pay the registration fee. 

Q:   When will AILET 2025 registration start?

A:

AILET 2025 registration was started on August 1, 2024 on the official AILET portal - nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. The official notification for AILET 2025 was released May 27, 2024, which confirmed the exact dates for registration and the exam. The exam date for All India Law Entrance Test is December 8, 2024. The AILET 2025 application form will be released for admission to BA LLB, LLM and PhD in Law courses.

Q:   When will the application form of CLAT, AILET and other major universities be out? Is there any website on which I can get all the details?

A:
The application forms for CLAT AILET and other law entrance exams for admission to top law universities/ colleges is generally released in January month of the academic year. However, now the application for CLAT and AILET is released around May or June, as these exams are to be conducted in December every year. The application forms for other law entrance exams like MHCET Law ULSAT TSLAWCET APLAWCET ISAT India, AMU B.A. LL.B. Are released between December to March, as the examinations are conducted from May to July. Top universities like BHU, AMU, DU LL.B. Allahabad University offering law courses including five-year integrated law course and three-year LL.B. Course are accepting CUET scores to shortlist candidates. Therefore, candidates have to fill CUET application forms, which are released generally in January or February every year on NTA website. Candidates also need to note that they need to pay INR 21,000 per semester as mess advance which will be adjusted as per the actual charges/ expenses of the hostel mess. Apart from this, 50 per cent of the deposits will go towards Student Welfare Fund and 50 per cent towards the Alumni Fund on completion of the course and it will be kept in a separate account to be used for students and alumni only.

Stage 2 - Research Proposals and Interview/Viva-voce - 30% weightage 

NLU Delhi offers PhD course in two modes - Full-time and Part-time. Those selected through the admission process mentioned above, have to pay the course-cum admission fees as under:

The National Law University (NLU) admission prospects are slim in view of a CLAT rank of 7616 and an EWS rank of 640. Most of the NLU cut-off ranks tend to be exceptionally lower as compared to general category and EWS candidates, even in some of the most sought-after courses like BA LLB.

As per the NLU Delhi BA LLB (Hons) AILET 2024 cutoff, the AILET  score for general category in 2024 stood at 71. The score for the same category and course stood at 106 in 2023 and 86 in 2022. Based on this trend, it can be said that getting a score between 80 and 90 would be good enough.
