The Mathematics section in CLAT 2026 will be based on the Class 10th syllabus. CLAT 2025 Mathematics Prep

The Common Law Admission Test 2026 is expected to be held in December 2025 first week. The Consortium will release the CLAT 2026 Exam Dates in the official CLAT Notification 2026.  Being the most competitive law entrance exam in India, candidates need to be exceptionally good in all the subjects of the CLAT question paper. CLAT will include Mathematics questions under the Quantitative Techniques section, carrying 13-17 questions out of a total of 120 questions. The candidates must prepare Mathematics questions for CLAT 2026 irrespective of weightage, as the section will be included in the final score calculation.

Q:   Will CLAT be held twice in 2026?

A:

In 2022, CLAT exam was held twice, I. e. on June 19 as CLAT 2022, and on December 18, 2022 as CLAT 2023. However, from 2024 onwards, CLAT exam is to be conducted once in a year only, as confirmed by the exam officials in the latest notification. Earlier, CLAT exam was conducted in May or June, but from 2024 onwards the entrance exam will be conducted in December (of preceding year to the admission year) itself for concluding admissions on time. Therefore, CLAT counselling process will be completed by May of each academic year.

Q:   When will the CLAT 2026 exam be held?

A:

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will conduct the CLAT 2026 on December 7, 2025 tentatively. The exam authority will first publish the admission notification for CLAT 2026 with details of syllabus, exam pattern and events on the official website. 

Q:   How to Check CLAT Merit List 2025?

A:

Candidates can check the NLU-wise CLAT merit list by following the below steps:

Step 1: Visit CLAT official website

Step 2: Navigate to ‘Notifications’ section

Step 3: Click on ‘CLAT 2025 Allotment List’ link

Step 4: View and download the CLAT allotment list 2025

Candidates must note that they can appear for CLAT Counselling 2025 only if there name is there in the merit list. CLAT counselling will be conducted in online mode. Candidates must appear for the counselling to get admission to one of the NLUs in the country.

As per the exam pattern of the CLAT exam 2026, the Quantitive Techniques section contains Maths questions based on passages. Q:   Is there Maths in CLAT 2026?

A:

Yes, there is math in CLAT exam. The section carries 10 per cent weight. Scoring well in maths can give candidates big boost over competition. The CLAT syllabus for Quantitative Techniques  includes the following important highlights:

Q:   Will CLAT be conducted in regional languages?

A:

CLAT 2026 is expected to be held in regional language. The Bar Council of India is planning to include vernacular languages as medium of paper in the coming years. Till CLAT exam 2024, it was held in the English language only like in previous years. CLAT 2025 PG Exam is also expected to be conducted in English only.

Q:   What are the exam timings for CLAT 2025?

A:

CLAT 2025 exam timings was confirmed in admission notification. The CLAT exam was held from 2 pm to 4 pm. The duration of CLAT exam was two hours, and therefore, the exam authority scheduled exam on the same day for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. On the day of examination, candidates had to report at least an hour before the exam timings, so as to complete frisking and check seating plan at the test centre. Q:   Are calculators allowed in CLAT Exam?

A:

Calculators are not allowed in the CLAT exam. However, students are provided the virtual calculator during the exam which can be used to solving lengthy calculations. The virtual calculator is made available on the computer screen during the test and candidates can use it by clicking on the calculator link. Candidates are advised to practice solving numerical questions on their own as using virtual calculators can take much time

Q:   What to do if I forget the password for CLAT Login?

A:
In case you forget the password for CLAT login, then you can recover it easily by clicking on 'Forgot Password' link at the bottom of the login window. For recovering the password or resetting the login account, the exam authority will ask your registered mobile number and email ID, and send an OTP on it. You need to enter this OTP to recover the account by clicking on 'Reset Account' button, and then create a new password for CLAT application login.

2. Probability:
   - Basic concepts of probability including events, outcomes, and probability formulae.
   - Problems involving dice, cards, coins, and daily life situations.

3. Mensuration:
   - Formulas and calculations related to areas, volumes, and perimeters of different geometric shapes like circles, triangles, rectangles, cubes, and spheres.
   - Solving problems involving the surface area and volume of composite figures.

4. Basic Algebra:
   - Simplification of algebraic expressions.
   - Solving word problems that includes algebraic concepts, linear and quadratic equations

Passage 5

Two renowned international Software companies, namely Polaris and Contingent, started their business in the year 2007 and both companies were in competition with each other in profit making. Pollaris earned 30 per cent profit in the year 2007 and 2008, and further increased it to 40 per cent in 2009. However, its profit percentage decreased to 20 per cent in the year 2010. On the other hand, Contigent opened with 40 per cent profit in 2007, but slowly decreased to 35 per cent in 2008 and 30 per cent in 2009. Passage 6

A newly formed state government wants to bring more development in the state. Therefore, the government proposed to launch various welfare programmes. Before bringing up any welfare programme, the state government intended to understand the population percentage of the state by age groups, so that the government could plan the welfare programmes accordingly. Passage 7

COVID-19 pandemic turned life upside-down for many families across the world. Mr. Abhishek was working as a sale executive in a famous Marketing Company. Due to COVID19 pandemic lockdown and restrictions, Mr. Abhishek was not able to achieve his monthly targets which resulted in the reduction of his salary. So far, he spent his income lavishly without any planning and prior calculations. However, the prevailing situation compelled him to plan his expenditure to adjust his life to the present income. The findings of Oxfam India’s latest ‘India Discrimination Report 2022’ indicate that there is a significant gap in the earnings between men and women in the case of regular and self-employment in urban areas. The lower wages for salaried women are due to 67 percent of discrimination and 33 percent due to lack of education and work experience. The average earning is ₹16,000 for men and merely ₹ 6,600 for women in urban areas in self-employment. The average earning of men is ₹19,800 as against ₹15,600 for women in regular/salaried employment in urban areas. Also, in urban areas the average earnings of men (₹9,000) are significantly higher than women ( ₹5,700) even in casual employment. Apart from women, historically oppressed communities along with religious minorities also continue to face discrimination in accessing jobs, livelihoods, and agricultural credit. The mean income for Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes (“SC/ST”) persons in urban areas who are in regular employment is ₹15,300 as against ₹20,300 for persons belonging to the non-SC/ST category. The average earning of self-employed workers is ₹15,900 for non-SC/STs and ₹10,500 for SC/STs. The average monthly earning for the SC/ST workers in casual work is ₹8,000 below the corresponding figure of ₹8,600 for the non-SC/ST.

The findings also indicate discrimination as a driving factor behind low Women’s Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) in the country. As per the Union Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), LFPR for women in India was only 25.1 percent in 2020-21 for urban and rural women. This is considerably lower than South Africa where the LFPR for women is 46 percent in 2021 as per the latest World Bank estimates. The LFPR for women in India has rapidly declined from 42.7 percent in 2004-05 to mere 25.1 percent in 2020-2021 showing the withdrawal of women from the workforce despite rapid economic growth during the same period.
