They need to refer to the right books and study materials and devote sufficient time to studying to become exam toppers.
Q: What is the difficulty level of SLAT?
SLAT, which stands for Symbiosis Law Admission Test, is the entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for admission to its undergraduate law programs, including BA LLB and BBA LLB. The difficulty level of SLAT can be categorized as moderate to moderately challenging.
Here are some key points to consider regarding the difficulty level of SLAT:
1. Subjective Perception: The difficulty of SLAT may vary from one candidate to another, depending on their individual strengths and weaknesses. Some candidates may find it relatively easier, while others may perceive it as moderately challenging.
2. Sections: SLAT typically consists of sections like Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Each section may have varying levels of difficulty, with some being more challenging than others.
3. Competitive Nature: SLAT is a competitive entrance exam, and it is designed to assess candidates' aptitude for legal studies. Therefore, it includes questions that test logical and analytical reasoning, legal concepts, and reading comprehension.
4. Preparation Matters: The difficulty of SLAT can also depend on the level of preparation of the candidate. Those who have thoroughly prepared for the exam, including solving practice papers and taking mock tests, are likely to find it more manageable.
5. Time Management: Like many other entrance exams, SLAT places a premium on time management. Candidates need to answer a significant number of questions within a limited time frame, which can add to the perceived difficulty.
6. Previous Year Papers: To gauge the difficulty level more accurately, it's a good practice to review previous year's question papers and sample papers, which are often available on the official SLAT website.
In summary, while SLAT is not considered exceptionally difficult, it does require focused preparation, particularly in areas such as logical and legal reasoning. Candidates who have a strong grasp of these concepts and practice effectively are better equipped to perform well in the exam.

According to another candidate, Navya Khurrana, the questions in the GK section were static. Questions in this section were also related to the ancient and mediaeval history of India.
- Questions in the GK section were also associated with the Ukraine-Russia War. Most of the exam takers considered GK the toughest section of the SLAT 2023 exam.
- SLAT 2023 easier than CLAT.

Q: Is it worth dropping a year for SLAT?
No, there is no need to drop a year to get admission to UG Law courses through SLAT. You can prepare for SLAT within 3-4 months. To prepare well for the Symbiosis Entrance Test for Law, you need to sincerely study at least 3-4 hrs. daily for 3-4 months before exam date. Thus, dropping a year will not help you to get admission to any of the Law Schools of the Symbiosis International University. You can also appear for other law entrance exams, such as the ULSAT (University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Law School Admission Test) or apply to an institute that accepts admission to UG law programmes based on marks obtained in the qualifying exam, if you feel like you are not prepared for the SLAT. It is one of the top educational institutions that provides quality law education based on the ULSAT and scores of other law exams, including CLAT and LSAT India.
Q: What is the difficulty level of the SLAT Reading Comprehension section?
The difficulty level of the SLAT Reading Comprehension section is easy to moderate. If we look at the previous years’ question papers of the SLAT exam, it has been noticed that most questions in the section were asked to assess the understanding of candidates about the English language. These questions are based on articles from different newspapers. Candidates require knowledge of English Grammar and vocabulary. Thus, to solve the Reading Comprehension section, they need to have excellent knowledge of English Grammar and vocabulary.
Q: What changes have been made to the SLAT exam pattern?
The Symbiosis Law Admission Test Authority has made a change in the weightage of SLAT entrance exam scores in recent years. As per the new pattern, there will be 60 questions for the SLAT question paper from five different sections: Logical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Each question carries one mark. This means the total marks for SLAT should be 60. However, the entrance test authority scaled down the 60 marks of the SLAT exam to 50. Thus, as per the new exam pattern, the new weightage for the SLAT exam is 50. The rest of the 50 weightage scores for the exam are taken from the SLAT Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interaction (PI). The weightage of SLAT WAT is 20. However, the weightage of PI is 30.
