TS PGLCET Exam Pattern 2025: Marking Scheme, Section-wise Questions & Weightage

The marking scheme for TS PGLCET (Telangana State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test) is as follows:

1. One Mark per Question: In the TS PGLCET, each question is assigned a value of 1 mark. This means that for every correctly answered question, a candidate earns 1 mark.

2. No Negative Marking: One distinctive feature of the TS PGLCET marking scheme is that there is *no negative marking* for incorrect answers. This is a favorable aspect for candidates as it means that they are not penalized for making guesses or attempting questions they are uncertain about. Therefore, candidates are encouraged to answer all questions in the exam, as there is no risk of losing marks for incorrect responses.

3. Total Marks: The total marks for the TS PGLCET exam is 120 marks. This is because there are a total of 120 questions in the question paper. Part A contains 40 questions, and Part B contains 80 questions. Since each question is worth 1 mark, the maximum achievable score is 120 marks.

4. Minimum Qualifying Marks: To qualify in the TS PGLCET, candidates are required to secure a minimum of 25% of the total marks (30 marks). However, it's important to note that there are usually no minimum qualifying marks for SC and ST category candidates. This means that SC and ST candidates need to score at least some marks to be eligible for admission, but there isn't a fixed percentage they must achieve.

The exam pattern for the Andhra Pradesh PGLCET (Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test) has been described below:

AP PGLCET Exam Pattern:

1. Mode of Examination: The Andhra Pradesh PGLCET is conducted as a computer-based test (CBT). Candidates need to visit the Andhra Pradesh PGLCET exam centre to take the exam in CBT / online mode.

2. Duration: The total duration of the exam is 90 minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes).

3. Type of Questions: The exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

4. Sections: The exam is divided into two parts, Part A and Part B.

Part A: Part A consists of 72 questions, and it covers topics such as Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Public International Law, and Mercantile Law.

Part B: Part B consists of 48 questions, and it covers topics like Labour Law, Crimes and Torts, IPR and other laws.

5. Total Number of Questions: There are a total of 80 questions in the Andhra Pradesh PGLCET exam.

The official notification for TS PGLCET clearly states that the exam will be conducted in English only. This means that the question paper, instructions, and answer choices will all be in English.

There is no option to take the TS PGLCET in Telugu. Candidates who are not comfortable taking the TS PGLCET in English may want to consider applying for other postgraduate law entrance exams, such as the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) PG. These exams are conducted in  English, Hindi and different Indian regional languages. Candidates can select Telugu or other language of their preference to take CLAT PG while filling out the application form for the exam.

The TS PGLCET admit card 2025 will tentatively be released in the fourth week of May 2025 on the official TSCHE LAWCET website. Candidates can use the following steps to download their TS LAWCET admit card or hall ticket:

You also need to carry the following items to the exam centre along with the TS LAWCET 2025 hall ticket: 

• Four passport size photos
• A valid photo ID proof (original copy)
• 2 ball point pens (blue and black)

LL.M. is a two-year postgraduate law programme that is offered by various universities and colleges in Telangana. The programme is designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge and specialisation in a particular area of law.

To be eligible for admission to LL.M. programs through TS PGLCET, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in law from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks. Reserved category candidates get a relaxation of 5% marks in the eligibility criteria.

There are two parts in the question paper for TS PGLCET: Part A and Part B. In Part A of the question paper, questions are asked from four subjects, including Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Public International Law and Mercantile Law. However, in Part B of the question paper, questions are asked on three subjects, namely, Labour Law, Crimes and Torts and IPR & Other Important Laws. The full marks of the TS PGLCET exam are 120.

How to prepare for torts in the TS PGLCET

• To prepare for torts in the TS PGLCET, you should:
• Understand the basic concepts of tort law, such as negligence, intentional torts, defamation, invasion of privacy, product liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death.
• Be familiar with the relevant Indian case laws on torts.
• Practice solving previous year's TS PGLCET question papers on torts.

The Telangana State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test (TS PGLCET) is conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) for post graduate law courses. Osmania University, which conducts the state-level exam on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), will conduct the entrance exam, TS PGLCET 2024. The exam will tentatively be held in the first week of June 2025 in a computer-based mode. The admission process is concluded with counselling and seat allotment by October month.
