AP ICET is a gateway exam to seek admission to MBA and MCA courses offered by the Government and SVU affiliated colleges of Andhra Pradesh. APICET is held once a year and is of moderate difficulty level. Q:   What is Andhra Pradesh ICET exam pattern?

Andhra Pradesh ICET exam pattern mentions the sections, marking scheme and number of questions in the question paper. As per the APICET exam pattern, the question paper will consist of total 200 questions Candidates will be given one mark for every correct answer and there will be no negative marking for any wrong answers. The duration of the exam is 150 minutes. Andhra Pradesh ICET exam will be a Computer Based Test to be conducted across 25 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh ICET exam is conducted in a two days window (each day two sessions).

Q:   When is the APICET exam conducted?

A:

The AP ICET 2025 exam date will be announced along with the release of AP ICET notification. The exam is expected to be  scheduled in first week of May 2025. The exam is held in offline mode across 25 districts of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates will have the option to enter maximum three exam center preferences (based on the availability) while filling the AP ICET 2025 application form. Based on the options entered, candidates will be alloted the exam centre as per the availability. Candidates will be able to check the alloted APICET exam centre on release of the AP ICET admit card. The admit card will be released in first week of May 2025. Candidates will be able to download the hall ticket for AP ICET 2025 till the date of the examination.

Q:   How many answer choices will be there in the APICET exam?

Each question will contain four answer choices in the APICET exam. The test duration of the APICET exam is 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. Within this slated time, test-takers need to solve 200 questions in total. Questions in the APICET exam will be asked from the topics mentioned in the APICET 2025 Syllabus. The entire syllabus is divided into three broad sections:−

The important topics of Analytical Ability in the APICET exam are: Questions based on data is in the form of two statements labelled as (i) and (ii), Sequences and Series (Analogies of numbers and alphabet, completion of blank spaces following the pattern in a:b::c:d relationship, missing number in a sequence or a series), Data Analysis (Data will be given in a Table, Graph, Bar diagram, Pie Chart, Venn Diagram or Passage and one need to analyse the questions pertaining to the data), Coding and Decoding Problems (A code pattern of English Alphabet will be given. A given word or a group of letters are to be coded or decoded on the basis of given code or codes), Date, Time & Arrangement Problems (Calendar problems, clock problems, blood relationships, arrivals, departures and schedules, seating arrangements, symbol and notation interpretation.

The important topics from the Communication Ability Section of APICET are: Part 1- Vocabulary (Identification of vocabulary used in the day to day communication. The important topics of Mathematical Ability in APICET exam are: 1. Laws of Indices, ratio and proportion, surds, numbers and divisibility, LCM, GCD, rational numbers, ordering, percentages, profit and loss, partnership, pipes and cisterns, time, distance and work problems, areas and volumes, mensuration, modular arithmetic. 2. AP ICET 2025 Section-Wise Preparation Strategy

Candidates preparing for AP ICET exam can check section-wise preparation tips:

Section 1: Tips to Prepare for Analytical Ability

The questions of this section will test candidates' ability to collect and analyse information, problem-solving ability and decision-making ability. Among all the topics included under Analytical Ability, questions from the Data Sufficiency section may appear slightly tricky.  All questions of the Data Sufficiency section will consist of two statements that will be labelled as (i) and (ii).

After analysing the statement problem, students need to select the right option from the two given options. In a certain type of question, candidates may find both option (i) and (ii) to be correct for a certain question. In this case, candidates must select option (iii).

Avoid ticking the answer in one go. Read each question more than once and then find out which answer option best answers the question. Remember, all the answer options will be similar in nature and there is a possibility that you may at first find all the statements to be true. However, you will have to select the most appropriate option.

Section 2: Tips to Prepare for Mathematical Ability

The mathematical Ability section of the APICET exam will test candidates' ability to effectively process numerical data and conclude a mathematical calculation based on that data. The Algebra and Geometry section questions are asked based on statements, truth tables, implication converse and inverse, relations, etc.

A useful tip to successfully answer questions in this section is to devote much time to clearing concepts, practising past question papers, learning different formulas and applying them simultaneously to solve problems.

Section 3: Tips to Prepare for Communication Ability

This section contains questions that test candidates' ability to receive various kinds of information, communicate new ideas precisely and convey the gist of any project effectively. Here, candidates will have to identify the vocabulary used in everyday communication, understand the functional use of grammar in business communication and identify basic terminology and concepts in computer and business contexts along with understanding the written text and drawing inferences.

Q:   When should I start preparing for APICET exam?

A:
Candidates willing to appear for the Andhra Pradesh ICET exam must start the preparations six months before the examination date. Candidates starting early to prepare for Andhra Pradesh ICET exam will have time to prepare in ease. Candidates must start with focusing on the basics and fundamentals and then slowly increasing the pace and level of the preparation. The private institution will help you n facilitating some tips and tricks, common misconceptions, common mistakes students generally commit. Online will be a virtual preparation method. It will not help you a lot if you are writing ICET exam for the first time. Some tips you should keep in mind during ICET exam are: Don't waste time in doing things and topics which are not much stressed upon. Candidates should choose or select the appropriate study material so that they can easily understand it and it will help them to understand the structure of the exam. Always play safe. Don't go for too high or too low level of the question banks or sample papers. Making a good assessment of the exam preparation by keeping the record of the number of wrong or right answers while solving the sample or previous year question papers is a must. Time plays a crucial role in achieving success. Aspirants are advised to manage time. 150 minutes will be given to the candidates for answering the 200 MCQs. The candidates must keep their eye on the clock as it is obligatory to finish the exam on time. Take mock tests on a regular basis and analyze them well in order to identify your weak and strong sections. Work hard on the weaker sections and convert them also to your stronger ones. No, all the questions in the APICET question paper will be objective type questions and will be in MCQ format. Candidates will be given four options for each question. Candidates will have to select the correct option for each question. Andhra Pradesh ICET question paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be for one mark. Q:   What is the qualifying score for APICET?

A:
Andhra Pradesh ICET qualifying score refers to minimum marks required to pass the examination. Candidates meeting the qualifying criteria will be able to appear for the Andhra Pradesh ICET counselling process. As per the Andhra Pradesh ICET qualifying criteria candidates who will secure 25% that is 50 out of 200 hall be eligible for assigning rank on the basis of merit. Whereas, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories have no prescribed qualifying criteria. Qualifying the Andhra Pradesh ICET exam does not guarantee admission to desired programme. Candidates must appear for the counselling process for applied institutes. On the basis of the rank obatined by the candidates, college will be alloted.

Q:   What are the important guidelines to appear for APICET exam?

Amid rising COVID-19 cases, candidates must ensure to wear the mask all time including outside and inside the examination hall. Any candidate found without mask will not be permitted to enter the examination hall. Candidates must note that the guardian/parents will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. Candidates must carry their own sanitiser (upto 100 ML) and transparent water bottle at the examination centre. Candidates who will be recorded with high fever will not be permitted to enter the examination hall. While entering the examination centre, candidates must ensure social distancing to prevent the spread of infection.
