Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for IRMASAT?

A:

IRMASAT is conducted by the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) for admission to its Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) programme. The eligibility criteria for IRMASAT are as follows:

  • Domestic Candidates:
    • Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
    • Candidates in their final year of the examination are also eligible, but they must submit proof of qualifying the final year by September 2024.
    • Candidates must have scored 85 percentile or above in CAT 2023, XAT 2024, or CMAT 2024.
  • Foreign Candidates:
    • Graduates in any stream with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent from a recognised university.
    • Candidates must have appeared in GMAT/GRE (from 2016 onwards) and have a score that meets the minimum cut-off criteria set by IRMA.
  • Sponsored Candidates:
    • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university/institution.
    • Candidates should have worked with the sponsoring organisation for a minimum of two years (as of July 1, 2024) as a regular employee on a full-time basis.
  • There is no age limit to appear for IRMASAT.

Q:   What is the selection criteria for Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) programme at IRMA Anand?

A:

The final selection of students to IRMA Anand's Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) course is based on the entrance exam scores and candidates' performance in GA and PI rounds. The entrance exams accepted include XAT/ CAT/ CMAT. The eligibility criteria for admissions is that candidate should have passed graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Additionally, the documents required for admissions include Scanned photograph and signature, Scanned and self-attested copy of category Certificate (as applicable), Scanned graduation marksheet, Class 10 and Class 12 marksheet, Domicile Certificate Sports Certificate and Work related documents.

In order to get admissions at IRMA, the candidate need to meet the latest eligibility as per pre-defined course. IRMASAT Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of IRMASAT 2024 to fulfil admission to IRMA are as mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria for Domestic Candidates:

  • Applicants applying for the PGDRM programme must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a state or centrally recognised university.
  • Applicants must have secured a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
  • Applicants belonging to the SC, ST, or DAP categories must have secured a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate in graduation.
  • Applicants in the final year of their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for IRMASAT provisionally.
  • Candidates must have scored the required percentile or above in CAT 2023, CMAT 2024 or XAT 2024 to be shortlisted on the basis of merit or profile.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Candidates:

  • Applicants must be graduates in any stream with a minimum score of 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Applicants must have appeared in GMAT/GRE (from 2016 onwards) and have a score that meets the minimum cut-off criteria set by IRMA.
  • Foreign applicants do not have to appear in IRMASAT, but they will be required to participate in Group Activity and Personal Interview round.

Eligibility Criteria for Sponsored Candidates:

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree, in any discipline, from a recognised university/institution.
  • Applicants should have worked with the sponsoring organisation for a minimum of two years (as of July 1, 2024) as regular employees on a full-time basis.
  • The sponsoring organisation should be willing to grant uninterrupted leave to the applicant (if selected) for the period of study at IRMA.
  • The sponsoring organisation should undertake to make arrangements for payment of fee and other dues of the candidate to IRMA.
  • If rejoining within three years for completing the second year of the programme to obtain a “PGDRM”, she/he must be working with the same organisation that sponsored her/him for the CRM and she/he needs to acquire a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC)” from it.
  • There is no age limit to appear for IRMASAT.

Qualifying Marks

Qualifying marks for IRMASAT 2024 are mentioned below:

  • Applicants who score above 80 percentile in CAT 2023/CMAT 2024/XAT 2024 and fall in the Profile-cum-merit based call criteria will be eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2024 and GA/PI process.
  • Candidates who fall in the Merit-based call criteria are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2024 and GA/PI process provided they have scored 85 percentile in CAT 2023/CMAT 2024/XAT 2024.

  • Merit-based Calls: The selection committee will decide the category-wise cutoff for the applicants who appeared for CAT 2023/ CMAT 2024 or XAT 2024.
  • Profile-cum-merit based Calls: Applicants who fulfil the following criteria will be shortlisted for profile-based calls:
    • Graduation in Agri Packaging and Processing, Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Cooperation related to Agricultural Cooperatives, Dairy Technology, Fishery, Food Processing, Food Science, Food Technology, Forestry, Horticulture or Veterinary from recognised universities and colleges.
    • Work experience in the Development Sector, Social Impact, Livelihoods, Policy and Advocacy, Agriculture and Allied Sectors.

2. Applicants applying provisionally will be required to submit proof of qualifying the final year by September 2024, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

3. If the applicants are awarded grades or CGPA, then the grade/CGPA will be converted into a percentage based on the procedure certified by the competent authority.

Q:   Do any of the IIMs accept IRMASAT?

A:

No, IIMs do not accept IRMASAT scores for admission to their management programmes. IIMs have their own separate entrance exam, CAT (Common Admission Test) which is used for admission to MBA and other post graduate management programmes. IRMASAT, is only accept by the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) specifically for admission to its postgraduate programme in rural management. IRMA is an institute which has its focus on rural and development management. 

Candidates who wish to take admission to any IIMs, they need to appear for the CAT exam and meet the eligibility criteria set by the IIMs. 

Q:   What will be my ROI after studying at IRMA?

Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) has concluded its placements drive for the 42nd batch (2021-23) of its flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) - the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management). As per the latest report, the participating recruiters made 339 placement offers to the batch of 250 participants of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management). The the highest and average package during IRMA placements 2023 stood at INR 26.50 LPA and INR 15.50 LPA, respectively. Q:   I have appeared for CAT exam and have a work experience of 31 months. Can I expect a call from IRMA?

A:

By evaluating candidates' performance in CAT, XAT or CMAT along with other selection criteria such as academic qualifications, work experience, and personal interview, IRMA aims to identify individuals who possess the requisite skills, knowledge, and commitment to contribute effectively to rural development initiatives and pursue careers in the field of rural management.

For admissions, IRMA shortlists candidates on two calls:

  • Merit-based Calls: The selection committee will decide the category-wise cutoff for candidates who appeared for CAT 2023, XAT 2024 or CMAT 2024.
  • Profile-cum-merit based Calls:

Candidates who fulfil the following criteria will be shortlisted for profile-based calls:

Q:   Which exams are accepted by IRMA?

A:

There are different exams through which students can get admission in IRMA Anand. For Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) and PGDM (RM-X), need to provide CAT 2023/ XAT 2024/ CMAT scores. For FPM (RM), the applications will be scrutinised by the allocated selection committee of IRMA on the basis of several constraints, such as past academic qualification, past test scores, research proposal, and reservation.

Q:   Does IRMA accept CAT score?

A:

Yes, the institute offers CAT score to enrol in Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) programme at IRMA. The selection process is divided into two stage. In first stage, candidate would be shortlisted based on CAT/XAT/CMAT scores. Second stage is interview process which consists WAT and PI. The candidate have to get 35% weightage is allocated to CAT exam scores to get admission in the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management) course.
