What is the scope after Completing IGNOU MBA?
Admission in both IGNOU MBA courses is done on the basis of candidates’ score in IGNOU OPENMAT exam. IGNOU OPENMAT is conducted by the university twice a year usually in the months of February and August to provide admission to candidates in all the postgraduate level management programmes offered by it.
What is the scope after completing IGNOU MBA?
A distance MBA degree from an open university like IGNOU always has a lesser scope as compared to a full-time MBA programme. MBA curriculum in most universities is highly extensive in which students are expected to go through regular case studies discussions and knowledge sharing. This aspect of an MBA course gets difficult to meet in the distance learning mode.
But a regular MBA course requires a huge investment in terms of both money and time. Therefore, IGNOU MBA is a blessing for those who are unable to pursue a full-time MBA due to financial or some other constraints.

- Comprehensive Study Material: IGNOU MBA offers one of the best study material to candidates prepared by professors from top institutions such as IIMs and IITs. Therefore with IGNOU MBA, candidates get to learn a lot within a limited period of time.
Cons of pursuing MBA from IGNOU
Less Exposure: One of the major drawbacks of pursuing a distance MBA from IGNOU is that the course does not provide much exposure to candidates. Unlike regular MBA students, candidates do not get a chance to interact with classmates and various other people in the industry. Also, learning market trends from live experiences and case studies is not possible for students pursuing IGNOU MBA.
Less Recognition from Recruiters: Although IGNOU is one of the most reputed UGC recognised universities, recruiters usually prefer a regular MBA candidate over a distance MBA one. Also, the salary is not quite encouraging for distance MBA students as compared to regular MBA candidates.
No Interaction with Faculty: There is no personal interaction with teachers which affects the learning of IGNOU MBA candidates. It is very difficult to study comprehensive books without any mentors. Therefore, it is very important for candidates pursuing MBA from IGNOU to follow a disciplined routine along with sincerity towards studies.
Job Opportunities after IGNOU MBA
