DAVV CET preparation

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore will announce the schedule for the DAVV CET exam in July. The entrance exam will be conducted tentatively in last week of August in computer-based mode. Candidates who are planning to appear for the exam should start preparation without any further delay to ensure a good score in DAVV CET 2022. Candidates can devise their preparation strategy with the help of important tips for DAVV CET 2022 that Shiksha has listed below.

Important Tips to Perfect DAVV CET preparation

Focus on Strength

Candidates preparing for programmes under groups A1 and B1 need to thoroughly cover all the four sections namely, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude. For candidates eyeing programmes under Group A2 and B2, the DAVV CET question paper will comprise three sections, namely, DI & LR, Verbal Ability and one course-specific subject. To gain confidence in Quantitative Aptitude, candidates should make a list of shortcuts and tricks to solve questions with accuracy and speed. For Verbal ability, a general understanding of the language would come in handy. They need to solve at least 15 to 20 Reading Comprehension passages to have a better grasp of the subject. For the Reasoning and DI section, aspirants’ critical thinking and decision making skills would be put to test. They need to have a grasp over key topics including Arrangement, Series, Coding-Decoding, Analogy, Syllogism, graphs, data analysis to score well in this section. While building on strength, candidates should not just overlook their weaknesses. If they have not touched some topics out of fear, it’s a good day to start with it.

Practice mocks with regularity

Solving mocks will help the aspirants to get an idea about the type of questions asked, the exam pattern and the marking scheme. Consistency is of paramount importance when it comes to solving mocks. One must set practical targets and adhere to them till the completion of the exam. An aspirant can easily assess his preparation level in the competition pool by practising DAVV CET Question papers and mock tests. After every attempt, they must evaluate their performance based on which they have to customise their preparation plan. Additionally, it will also help an aspirant to devise his section-wise approach while taking the exam.

Analysis of mistakes

Self-analysis is a crucial aspect of DAVV CET preparation. No matter how many questions a candidates attempts, without self-analysis and corrective measures, he will only experience a marginal improvement in his performance. Besides, candidates should always try to figure out the simplest and quickest way to solve a problem. They should focus on maximising the score by avoiding any kind of mistake they have done in the previous tests. To make their preparations more exhaustive, candidates can note down the different types of questions they come across while attempting mocks in a separate notebook.

Reach out to peers/guide

If a candidate needs more clarity on a particular topic or gets stuck on a question, he must reach out to his peers or guide. Online forums related to the DAVV CET exam could also be of great help for aspirants. There are various study groups dedicated to MBA preparation on social media platforms such as Facebook, Telegram, Quora, among others. Candidates can also refer to video tutorials available on platforms like YouTube and Vimeo to get a better understanding of their subject.

Revise

A good amount of time should be invested in revising all the key topics and concepts under the DAVV CET syllabus. Revision not only helps in making preparation more organised but also boost candidates’ confidence level. Candidates should also prepare a separate list of formulas and concepts, which should be revised regularly. It is also important for candidates to set realistic revision targets and avoid trying ting incorporate more topics in a single day. Revision helps in clearing all kinds of confusion and it strengthens what they have already studied.

Develop a sound exam day strategy

It is important for candidates to give their 100 per cent on the examination day. They must get adequate sleep on the preceding night of the exam so that they can appear for the exam in a relaxed state of mind. One should keep calm during the exam, and not panic in case anything goes wrong during the exam. They just need to employ the same strategy, which they have followed while solving DAVV CET mocks. Candidates should first attempt questions from those topics that they are most confident about then they should move to tougher questions.

Take regular breaks to relax

Taking regular breaks is also a critical part of exam preparation. Candidates tend to lose focus after sitting for long spells. It may increase exam-related stress or reduce the retention power of the candidate. They should take short breaks to rejuvenate their mind. They may listen to their favourite music, or stroll to the nearby park or even practice meditation.
