Q:   Is the OJEE syllabus the same every year, or does it change?

A:

The core subjects and topics in the OJEE syllabus generally remain consistent from year to year. However, minor adjustments or updates may occur over time. The core subjects for different OJEE exams, such as BTech, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy and others, remain relatively stable. These subjects align with the standard curriculum for the respective programmes. While the core content remains consistent, exam authorities may make periodic updates to keep the syllabus aligned with advancements in the respective fields.

Reviewing previous year's OJEE question papers can also provide insights into the types of questions that have been asked historically in OJEE exams and help candidates prepare accordingly. While the core components of the OJEE syllabus typically remain consistent, it's essential to verify the specific syllabus for your chosen programme and year by referring to official OJEE sources. This ensures that you are well-prepared and focused on the topics and subjects that are relevant for your OJEE exam.

Q:   Is there negative marking for wrong answers in OJEE exam?

A:
Yes, the OJEE exam has negative markings. Each question in the OJEE exam carries four marks. And for every incorrect answer, one mark is deducted. This means that if the candidate has five correct answers, then 20 marks will be added to the OJEE score. If the candidate marks more than one answer for a particular question, the answer will be considered incorrect and one mark will be deducted. To avoid maximum marks deduction, candidates must attempt the easier question first and then move on to the more difficult ones in that particular section. If the applicant is unsure about a particular question, they can also skip the question. No marks will be deducted or awarded for unanswered questions. Further, the top colleges accepting the OJEE scores generally place a cut-off of 302-690 in OJEE for shortlisting candidates.
Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

In JEE physics syllabus topic such as Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, Modern Physics, etc. are covered which require extensive and deep understanding of the fundamental principles. Whereas in OJEE, the Physics syllabus aligns with Class 11 and Class12 Physics curriculum is relatively easier to study.

The Chemistry syllabus of the JEE exam is divided into Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. It includes topics like Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Equilibrium, Thermodynamics, Organic Chemistry Reactions and Mechanisms, etc. While the Chemistry section of OJEE is similar to the Class 11 and 12 Chemistry curriculum, like the Physics syllabus. It covers topics like Chemical Bonding, Chemical Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, etc.

The same is the case for the Mathematics section of both the exams. In addition to PCM, OJEE also offers examinations for other fields, such as Pharmacy, MBA, MCA, and lateral entry to engineering, so the syllabus can vary depending on the specific course.
