The Karnataka MBBS counselling process through NEET 2024 scores will be conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The Karnataka NEET 2024 counselling dates have not been announced yet. It is expected that the Karnataka MBBS 2024 registration process will begin in July. The tentative dates for the Karnataka MBBS are given in the table below.
Q: Will NTA lower the NEET cut off for this year?
NTA did not lower the NEET cutoff for this year. On the contrary, the NEET 2024 cutoff marks is higher as compared to last year. NTA determines the NEET cut off based on the factors such as difficulty level of the exam, total number of test-takers, total number of seats, candidate category and programme.

Q: What is the cut off for NEET Government colleges?
The NEET cutoff score or ranks for Government medical colleges vary for each year and rounds. Moreover, the cutoff for the top ranked colleges is higher than that of the Government colleges with comparatively lower scores. For the General category, NEET cutoff for Government colleges is generally above a score of 700 or above. For some Government colleges with a comparatively lower rank, there might be multiple rounds of NEET counselling and the final round cutoff may be around 450-500. Candidates must note that the NEET cutoff marks for Government medical colleges mentioned here is indicative and absolute. The cutoff marks and ranks change every year and vary based on factors such as number of seats, number of eligible candidates, number of participants in the counselling round, to name a few.
Q: What is the qualifying NEET cut off for General category candidates?
The qualifying NEET 2024 cutoff marks for General category candidates is 162. Last year it was 137. As expected, the NEET 2024 cutoff for General category candidates is higher than last year. The reason is, the difficulty level of NEET was lower this year, whereas the competition level has become even higher, along with the increase in the number of seats.
Q: How will I know that I have scored above the NEET cutoff or not?
The cutoff for NEET is released along with the result or the scorecard. The NEET cutoff or qualifying marks vary for each category, which are General, SC, ST, OBC and PwD/PH. Q: What is the procedure to calculate the NEET percentile score?
A percentile refers to the comparison between the score of one candidate vis-a-vis the other test takers. It is the percentage of scores that a particular score surpassed. NTA has stated the formula to calculate the NEET percentile, which is given below:
100 multiplied by the Number of candidates with their raw score equal to/ less than the candidate divided by the Total number of candidates who appeared for NEET.
As per the NEET 2023 result data, the highest percentile obtained was 99.9999019.

How to Register for Karnataka MBBS Counselling
The steps to register for Karnataka MBBS counselling 2024 is given below:
Step 1: Go to the official website and select ‘UGET-2024 online registration’. Enter details such as the name of candidates, contact address details, category, PwD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, etc. Application ID and password will be sent to the registered mobile number of the candidate.
Step 2: Upload images of a recent passport-sized photograph, signature and thumb impression (left hand)
Step 3: Pay the registration/counselling fee. The registration fee can be paid online using a credit card/debit card/net banking. Candidates can also pay the fee offline by downloading the bank challan.

Step 4: Save and print a copy of the application form and keep it safe for future use
According to NTA, as many as 13,43,81 candidates had registered in Karnataka out of which 13,13,18 candidates appeared and 75,248 candidates have qualified for NEET 2024. On the other hand, the total MBBS seats offered in Karnataka is over 11,500.
It is expected that the NEET 2024 counselling process, for both the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) and 85 per cent State Quota seats will begin next month. Candidates who have qualified for NEET 2024 will be eligible to participate in the NEET counselling process.
