Q. Tell us something about your background. What motivated you to pursue medicine as a career?
A. I'm basically from Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. I have done my MBBS from AIIMS Bhubaneswar, 2016 batch.
Q. How did your family support you in your journey?
A. My elder sister Dr. Chetna Tholia (MD Pediatrics, PGIMS Rohtak) motivated me to take up Medicine after my 12th. She has been a constant guiding force throughout my entire preparation phase. Family support is definitely very crucial when you are preparing for such a daunting exam. I've had lots of lows and having someone stand by you really helps you to bounce back and get better.
Q. Where did you complete your rotatory internship?
A. I did my internship at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Q. Did you appear for any other PG medical entrance examination?
A. Yes. I appeared for NEET PG last year where I got a rank of 2819.
Q. What are your thoughts on the NEET PG 2023 postponement that many candidates requested? Do you think the exam should've been postponed?
A. This is something you just can't control. Focussing on what you are doing is more important because these things can distract you. I wasn't really updated with the news at that time. So, I don't think I can comment on whether the decision was right or not.
Q. How did you prepare for NEET PG 2023?
A. I just focussed on my notes, gave multiple tests, analysed my mistakes and made sure I don't repeat them again.
Q. How much time did you devote to self-study vs. coaching and how do you manage to do both?
A. I had already done my coaching during my Pre-final year. I used to do about 6-8 hrs of self-study everyday.
Q. Did you take any mock tests to prepare for NEET PG 2023 preparations?
A. I used to give about one mock test every 15 days throughout my last 1 year.
Q. Did you have any specific exam day strategy?
A. My strategy was to stay calm, read questions thoroughly and avoid committing blunders.
Q. What are your hobbies and did you find time to engage in your hobbies throughout your NEET PG 2023 preparations?
A. I used to play badminton a lot in my college. I didn't find much time to play badminton in the last year, so I used to sometimes go for a walk at Local Park.
