NEET MDS 2024 result was declared on April 3, 2024. NBE released the MDS result 2024 online, in two formats, merit list and scorecard. The NEET MDS 2024 merit list was declared by NBE first, followed by the scorecard, on April 15, 2024. Both documents were released in PDF formats. While the merit list is accessible to all, the scorecard is available only to the candidate. The NEET MDS 2024 exam was conducted on March 18, 2024, from 9 AM to 12 noon in 56 cities across India. Around 28,000 candidates appeared for the exam. Along with the result, NBE also released the NEET MDS cutoff.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has announced a reduction in the qualifying percentile for NEET MDS 2024. As per the official notification, the ministry has decided to lower the qualifying cutoff percentile for NEET MDS 2024 by 21.692 percentile for each category. The ministry has notified the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to announce the revised NEET MDS result 2024 with lowered qualifying percentiles and urged the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to take the necessary actions based on the revised results. Although the NEET MDS 2024 cutoff was reduced, there was no change in the rank list.Â

Candidates included in the merit list are eligible for the counselling process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the counselling authority of the exam, is conducting the NEET MDS counselling at present.

NBE stated that one question was found to be technically incorrect. Full marks have been awarded to all candidates who appeared in the exam, irrespective of whether this question has been attempted or not.

Types of NEET MDS Merit Lists
The following three types of merit lists were released after the announcement of the NEET MDS 2024 result:
- NEET MDS 2024 rank: Overall merit position of the candidate amongst all the candidates who have appeared in the NEET MDS 2024 examination.
- All India 50 per cent quota rank: Overall merit position of the candidate amongst all the candidates who have appeared in the NEET MDS 2024 examination and are eligible for the All India 50 per cent quota.
- All India 50 per cent quota Category Rank: Overall merit position of the candidate in the category (OBC/SC/ST) as opted by the candidate in the NEET MDS 2024 examination.

Q: Â What is the difference between the NEET MDS scorecard and merit list?
NEET MDS merit list provides the overall record of the exam for all candidates. The merit list is released in a PDF format for all candidates. On the other hand, the scorecard is an individual document which is accessible only to the test-taker and carries detailed information regarding his/her exam performance in terms of subject-wise score, percentile and rank. Both the documents are prepared by NBEMS, the exam conducting body. The NEET MDS scorecard is issued only to candidates who can download it by logging in through their registration credentials and nobody else can access it. NEET MDS Result 2024: Tie-Breaker Criteria
On recurrent occasions, it is found that two or more candidates obtain the same marks as the result of NEET MDS. In such cases, the merit position is determined using the following tie-breaker criteria:
- Candidates with a lesser number of incorrect responses in the overall paper (Part A & B) will be placed in a better merit position
- Candidates with a higher score in Part B of the question paper will be placed at a higher merit position.Â
- If marks in Section B are equal, the candidate who has a fewer number of incorrect responses in Section B of the paper will be placed higher.
- If all the other criteria fail, a candidate older in age will be placed higher on the merit list.

According to NBE, the exam conducting body, the NEET MDS tie-breaking criteria are as follows:
- Candidate having lesser number of incorrect responses in the overall paper (Part A & B) will be placed at better merit position.
