Karnataka NEET PG 2024 Round 3 (mop-up round) document submission and verification deadline has been extended till January 21, 2025 on the request of the applicants. The KEA NEET PG 2025 seat matrix was released on January 17, 2025. The KEA NEET PG mop-up round online application link (after lowering the qualifying percentile) was made active and live on the official website. Candidates can visit the direct link given below to register for the mop-up round of counselling.

KEA NEET PG Mop-up Round Registration - DIRECT LINK (APPLY NOW)

The KEA NEET PG mop-up round application forms were available till January 18, 2025 (10:59 AM) on the official website,cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. According to the official notification, the newly registered candidates had to appear physically for the document verification and submission of the original documents at KEA, Bangalore to become eligible for seat allotment on or before January 18, 2025.  

Candidates who qualify for the NEET PG and NEET MDS  are eligible to apply for the KEA NEET PG counselling.  Karnataka NEET PG 2024 counselling is being conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates who qualify for the NEET PG and NEET MDS  are eligible to apply for the KEA NEET PG counselling. Candidates whose names were included in the NEET PG 2024 counselling merit list can participate in the Karnataka NEET PG 2024 counselling. KEA NEET PG 2024 will have two main rounds. The mop-up round for Karnataka NEET PG counselling will be conducted if any seats are left vacant after the second round. Candidates must note that no separate examination will be conducted for admission to the medical colleges in Karnataka. The counselling is being conducted for admission to 50% state quota and 100% private college seats. A merit list will be released on the official website based on registration, NEET PG rank, state domicile, reservation, and other criteria.

The NEET PG exam was conducted on August 11, 2024. The NEET PG 2024 result was declared on August 23, 2024. Post the result announcement, the state medical counselling bodies began their counselling procedure. A schedule for the KEA counselling 2024 is published on the official website and in the upcoming sections. Candidates are advised to follow the schedule to participate in the Karnataka PG NEET Counselling process.

Q:   What is the last date of KEA NEET PG document submission for the mop-up round?

A:

To seek admission through Karnataka NEET PG mop up round, it is mandatory to submit the documents and get them verified at the physical centres as mentioned by KEA. On the request of the candidates, KEA has extended the last date for Karnataka NEET PG mop up round document submission. The last date for the Karnataka NEET PG doc submission is January 21, 2025. Admission seekers will have to visit the KEA Bangalore to complete the verification and to deposit original documents. Also, candidate who hold the verification slip and are yet to submit the original documents can also deposit the original documents in order to be eligible for the mop-up round seat allotment.

Q:   Will KEA conduct mop-up counselling this year for Karnataka NEET PG?

A:

Yes, KEA conducted the Karnataka NEET PG mop-up round from January 15, 2025 onwards. There was a delay in commencing the Karnataka NEET PG mop-up (round-3) round due to lowering of percentile as the NEET PG cutoff has been lowered by the Ministry of Health. Candidates were allowed to participate in fresh registrations till January 18, 2025.

Q:   How many seats are there in NEET PG in the state of Karnataka?

There are approximately 100 medical colleges of Karnataka offer MD/MS admission to approximately 5,267 MBBS seats in Karnataka. KEA NEET PG counselling 2024 is being conducted through the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. There will be three rounds tentatively, all of which will be conducted by KEA. The stray vacancy round will only be led only if seats are left vacant after the mop-up/third round.

Karnataka NEET PG Counselling 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates willing to apply for the Karnataka PG medical counselling 2024 are advised to go through the eligibility criteria set by the KEA. Merely filling out the KEA counselling application form to participate in Karnataka NEET PG counselling 2024 will not guarantee seat allotment. Eligibility criteria for admission through the counselling of Karnataka NEET PG 2024 are as follows:

General Eligibility Criteria (Applicable to All)

  1. He/she must have qualified NEET PG 2024
  2. He/she must possess an MBBS degree from an institute recognised by MCI
  3. He/she must have completed his/her compulsory rotatory internship by April 31, 2024. 

Eligibility Criteria for Candidates Applying for Government Seats

In addition to fulfilling the above conditions, the candidate must have passed MBBS from a recognised institute in Karnataka. Candidates who have completed the MBBS degree from an institute outside Karnataka but have studied in the state for 10 years, including class X or XII, can also apply for the counselling of Karnataka NEET PG counselling.

Q:   How can I get admission in MD/MS in Karnataka?

A:

Candidates are required to appear for the NEET-PG entrance exam and obtain the minimum qualifying percentile as prescribed by the regulatory authorities of KEA counselling. After completing the application form, the candidate has to choose the type of domicile (a1, a2 or b) and Pay the application fee online and print the receipt.

No, the KEA application form were available online only. Applications sent by post or any other mode were not accepted. To participate in the counselling of KEA NEET PG 2024, a candidate must possess a domicile certificate of Karnataka state. Karnataka PG NEET Counselling - DIRECT LINK (Seat Matrix)

The KEA NEET PG 2024 Round-1 option entry started on November 19 and was open till November 22, 2024. The last date for reporting to the allocated institute for round-1 counselling was December 4, 2024 (5:30 pm closing). With this event, the KEA NEET PG Round-1 concluded on December 4, 2024. The KEA NEET PG round-2 provisional seat allotment list for the MD/MS was released on December 19, 2024. Candidates were required to deposit the original documents and other certificates as per the verification slip on December 12, December 13, December 16, and December 17, 2024. No original documents were accepted on December 11, 2024. 

Q:   How many rounds of counselling will be organised to fill the seats offered through KEA NEET PG?

A:

Karnataka NEET PG is a gateway to top medical colleges in the state of Karnataka. Candidates applying through KEA NEET PG will get a chance to participate in two rounds of counselling with an additional mop-up round, if the seats remain vacant. In certain cases, in case the seats remain vacant even after the mop-up round, then a special stray vacancy round (4th round) is also organised. However, the seat matrix after each round of counselling will be shared to maintain transpirancy in the admission process.

The Karnataka NEET PG seat matrix for each round will be shared before the commnecement of registration of each round. Once the seat matrix releases, then the choice filling and option locking window will open. Q:   When will KEA release the seat allotment result for Karnataka NEET PG Round 2?

A:

Karnataka NEET PG seat allotment result will be released by the counselling conducting body, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on the official website,  cetonline.karnataka.gov.in after each round of counselling. After the KEA NEET PG Choice filling and option entry closes, KEA will release a provisional seat allotment list. Eligible candidates will then be able to make final changes to the choices filled by them. After some interval, KEA will release a final Seat allotment Result post which candidates will have to pay the tuition fee of the allotted institute within the deadline.

Registration and filling the KEA NEET 2024 Application Form

Candidates who have qualified for NEET PG 2024 and wish to participate in Karnataka NEET PG counselling 2024, need to register themselves on the official website of KEA.

The application form for the counselling of Karnataka NEET PG 2024 can be filled in an online mode only. Applications submitted offline will not be accepted.

The application fee for Karnataka PG medical counselling 2024 can be paid online using a credit card/debit card/net banking. Candidates can pay the fee offline by downloading the bank challan.

How to use the Karnataka NEET PG 2024 Edit Window?

Online verification of documents

To be considered for seat allotment, the candidate needs to get all the relevant documents verified by the competent authority. For this, he/she needs to upload the relevant documents in a PDF format along with the application form for Karnataka NEET PG 2024 counselling. If a candidate fails to upload the relevant documents, he/she will not be considered for the seat allotment process. 

Candidates who successfully complete the document verification process for Karnataka NEET PG 2024 counselling will be issued a ‘Verification Acknowledgement’. Candidates must check the details printed on the acknowledgement. They must inform the officials immediately in case of any discrepancy. The acknowledgement will also contain an alphanumeric unique secret key. All candidates are required to set the password for the registered account on the official website of KEA using this secret key and user ID.

How to set the password using the secret key?

  • Go to the official website of KEA
  • Select ‘NEET PG 2024 Option Entry’
  • Enter testing ID and secret key
  • Enter new password; confirm the new password
  • Register a new mobile number and email ID
  • Select the hint question and type an answer
  • Click ‘Login’
  • Note down the password and hint answer for future reference

KEA NEET PG 2024 Option Entry

Each college will have four different categories of seats; government, private, NRI and others. The fee for each category is different. Candidates must, therefore, fill in the choices carefully. They have to choose the course/college of their choice in the order of individual preference.

KEA NEET PG 2024 Seat Allotment

KEA will prepare the seat allotment list based on the seat matrix for the current admission session, the state merit list, and the choices filled by the applicants of Karnataka NEET PG counselling 2023. Candidates who have been allocated a seat in the first/second round of Karnataka PG medical counselling will now have to choose if they want to retain/surrender the allocated seat. He/she has to login to the registered account on the official website and choose from among the following four options:

Choice 1: The candidate is satisfied with the allocated seat and is willing to report to the allotted college. He/she is not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline.

Choice 2: The candidate is satisfied with the allocated seat but wishes to participate in the next round (for upgrading).

Choice 3: The candidate is not satisfied with the seat allocated to him/her and would like to surrender it. He/she would, however, like to participate in any further rounds of counselling.

Choice 4: The candidate is not satisfied with the seat allocated to him/her and would like to surrender it. He/she would not like to participate in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline.

If a candidate opts for choice 1 or 2 but is unable to join the allocated institute: Such candidates have to mandatorily report to the allocated institute. Not reporting to the institute within the assigned duration will be considered as blocking of seat, and will attract a penalty.

Collection of Admission Order

Candidates will have to carry original copies of all the documents that were uploaded during the registration process. After verifying the authenticity of these documents and comparing them to those uploaded online, the institute will issue admission letters to eligible candidates. If the authorities find any discrepancy in these two sets of documents, the admission of such candidate will be cancelled and the fees paid by him/her will be forfeited. 

Q:   How can I get admission in MD/MS/MDS in Karnataka NEET PG?

A:

In order to seek admission through KEA NEET PG counselling, candidates need to participate in the Registration process, followed by KEA counselling fee payment. Verification of documents is essential to participate in the counselling. The next step is choice filling and locking, which will be followed by seat allotment process. Candidates will be allocated seat in Karnataka NEET PG 2024 counselling should report to the respective institute for confirmation of admission.

The KEA cutoff for PG courses is the rank at which admissions will be provided to various MD/MS colleges in the state. The qualifying cutoff for the general category is 291 and 257 for the reserved category aspirants. The cutoff for NEET PG 2023 for General-PwBD category is 274 marks. The cutoff for NEET MDS in the state of Karnataka for general category is 272 marks.

Karnataka KEA NEET PG Counselling Stages - Previous Year

The Round-1 seat allotment result was released on September 2, 2023. Candidates were allowed to make fee payments by September 7, 2023 during the banking hours. Check the Mock seat allotment result for round-1 by clicking on the link provided below:

Earlier, the option entry date was extended till August 26, 2023. KEA released the Karnataka NEET PG seat matrix for several categories on August 23, 2023. The application window for the KEA NEET PG 2023 counselling was available till August 13, after the deadline was extended. The last date to register for Karnataka NEET PG 2023 counselling was extended owing to multiple requests from the candidates. Candidates had to pay the fee last till August 13, 2023. 

In the prior event, KEA NEET PG 2023 application deadline was extended to August 3, 2023 (6:00 PM).

KEA had announced after the round-2 that candidates need to bring along two photocopies of the NEET PG application form, PGNEET 2023 scorecard, and Identity card. As per the recent notification, the qualifying criteria for the PG (Medical) courses have been reduced to "ZERO" across all categories by MoHFW. Therefore, the registration process has been restarted owing to the lowering of the qualifying percentile for PG courses for NEET PG candidates.
