Q: Who conducts Odisha NEET UG counselling?
Odisha NEET UG counselling process is conducted by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). OJEE conducts the counselling process for the undergraduate medical courses, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS. It is the state counselling for the 85 per cent State Quota (SQ) seats of the Odisha state. Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam are eligible to participate in this state counselling. Even though OJEE is the counselling authority for Odisha NEET UG counselling, the process and rules are inclined as per the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS). Odisha NEET UG Counselling is done by a Committee consisting of OJEE Chairman, OJEE Vice-Chairman, OJEE Secretary OJEE, and three Members (Additional Director of DMET Odisha, and two other Members).

Q: What is the current scenario of the Odisha NEET counselling?
Odisha NEET UG counselling 2024 for the academic year 2024-25 Stray Vacancy or Spot Counselling round has concluded on November 3, 2024. As many as 100 candidates have been admitted seats in this round, which is supposedly the last and final round. The counselling process had started on August 10, 2024.
Odisha NEET 2024 counselling Round 3 was conducted from October 7 to October 30, 2024.
The Round 2 provisional seat allotment result was declared on September 24, 2024, and the final result was declared on September 26, 2024. The institute reporting and admission fee payment procedure was conducted from September 28 to October 2, 2024.
The registration process for the Round 2 of Odisha NEET 2024 counselling concluded on September 9, 2024. The provisional and final merit lists have been released on September 11 and September 13 respectively. The choice filling and locking rounds is being conducted from September 14 to September 23. The schedule for the Odisha NEET 2024 counselling for Round 2 and further rounds have been revised on account of the change in the seat matrix.
The Odisha NEET 2024 counselling process for Round 1 was conducted from August 10 to September 3, 2024. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) has announced the dates for counselling. Q: When did NTA release the official cutoff for NEET 2024?
The official NEET 2024 cutoff was released by NTA along with the NEET 2024 result on June 4, 2024, 10 days ahead of the scheduled date. However, the revised NEET 2024 cutoff was released on July 26, 2024, along with the re-revised scorecard and merit list. The NEET cutoff refers to the minimum score a candidate has to obtain to qualify for the NEET counselling process. The NEET cutoff 2024 increased from that of last year as the number of test takers is higher. The minimum marks to be scored by General category candidates to qualify is 164. However, the category-wise cutoff percentiles have remained constant.

NEET 2024 cut off percentile for general category students is 50th percentile. Based on this, the NEET cutoff score 2024 for the General category is 162. The NEET 2024 cutoff for the General category candidates of the Physically Handicapped (PH) category candidates is 45 percentile. The subsequent NEET cutoff marks for this category is 144. Although the NEET cutoff percentile for the General category has remained the same, the cutoff score increased from that of last year. This is due to factors such as easier difficulty level, increased number of test-takers and intake.

Q: Will OJEE scores be accepted for Odisha NEET Counselling?
No, admissions to medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses in Odisha are done on the basis of NEET scores only. Scores of OJEE or the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) will not be considered for medical or allied course admission. Hence, candidates seeking admission to medical and allied courses in the state of Odisha must have appeared, or planning to appear for NEET and qualify for the exam as well. Admission to Odisha NEET counselling will be done for 85 per cent state quota seats and is conducted by OJEE Counselling Committee.

Q: Is there any reservation for OBC candidates in Odisha NEET counselling?
No, there will not be an OBC category reservation in Odisha NEET 2024 counselling. Such candidates will be considered as open category students for admission purposes. This means, such candidates must secure the NEET qualifying cutoff for the General or Open category candidates as stated by the National Testing Agency (NTA) during the NEET 2024 result declaration. The other eligibility criteria stated by Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) counselling committee is also the same as that applicable for the General category candidates. OBC category candidates are not allowed to claim any special reservation during the seat allotment process. At the same time, such candidates need not furnish any specific documents pertaining to OBC category.

Q: What is the eligibility criteria to participate in the Odisha NEET counselling?
Odisha Joint Entrance Exam (OJEE) will state the eligibility criteria to participate in the Odisha NEET counselling 2024 along with the announcement of the state counselling process. The criteria are given below.
• Candidates must be of 17 years of age as on 31.12.2024 and there will be no upper age limit.
• Candidates must be permanent natives of Odisha, or Children of All India Civil Service officers serving in state of Odisha cadre.
• Candidates must have passed Class 12 Board exam in Science stream and in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have secured minimum of 50 per cent marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at Class 12 Science level for General Candidate (GE), 40 per cent for SC/ST candidates and 45 per cent for benchmark disability candidates (PC-GE). The required mark for Physically Challenged candidate of SC/ST category is 40 per cent.
• Candidates must have qualified for NEET 2024.
The eligibility criteria for NRI candidates to participate in the OJEE NEET 2024 counselling process are given below:
1. The NRI candidates, who have qualified the NEET UG 2024, are eligible.
2. NRI means the children or wards of a person of Indian origin residing outside India. Such candidates have to submit the following documents in support of NRI.
i. Documents claiming that the sponsorer is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsorer)
ii. Relation of NRI with the candidate
iii. Affidavit from the sponsorer that he/ She will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate duly notarized.
iv. Embassy Certificate of the Sponsorer (Certificate from the Consulate).
