SMFWBEE 2025: Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Syllabus, Patten

The State Medical Faculty West Bengal Entrance Examination (SMFWBEE) exam is conducted by the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal. The examination is conducted for admission to undergraduate BSc paramedical courses offered by paramedical colleges in West Bengal. The SMFWBEE entrance examination is conducted once every year in offline (pen and paper) mode. All the candidates who wish to apply for the paramedical courses in the paramedical colleges of West Bengal will have to register themselves on the official website of the institute using a valid email ID and mobile number. Candidates seeking admission to paramedical courses through the SMFWBEE exam must fulfill the eligibility conditions mentioned as under:

• Students must pass the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent Examination recognised by any Indian University or a duly constituted Board with pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually

• A candidate should have attained the age of 17 years as mentioned in the information brochure/prospectus for the current academic year.

If any candidate is found to be ineligible for the course, their application will be canceled. Also, the registration fee paid by such candidates shall be forfeited. To avoid complications, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements before filling out the SMFWBEE 2025 registration form.

Admissions to the paramedical courses will be based on the marks obtained in the SMFWBEE entrance examination as most of the paramedical colleges in West Bengal accept SMFWBEE scores for granting admission. The institute will not accept the scores of any other examination for admission to the paramedical courses. Candidates are, thus, advised to go through the admission process for these courses.

SMFWBEE Registration 2025

The registration for SMFWBEE paramedical 2025 entrance exam is quite easy. Candidates must complete all the application stages to apply for the entrance exam. All candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee to complete the registration process. Candidates must also reserve copies of the forms that are filled during the SMFWBEE paramedical 2023 application process. To register for the exam, candidates must keep ready the documents mentioned below:

• Attested copies of Original Mark Sheet for H.S / equivalent Exam,

• Admit Card for proof of age

• A scanned copy of a colored photograph

• A scanned copy of the signature

• SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PH certificate to be submitted during Online Application

Admission fee for SMFWBEE 2025

Candidates belonging to all the categories need to pay the following SMFWBEE application and counselling fee to seek admission to paramedical colleges/institutes of West Bengal. The details are mentioned as under:

Candidates can pay application and counselling fees through net banking/debit card/credit card. In case the transaction fails at EPG, the candidate has to make payment once again. Applicants are advised to keep copies of the confirmation page and admit card in safe custody.

The following is the list of centers for the candidates who wish to apply for the SMFWBEE paramedical exam. Candidates can refer to the list of examination centres specifying the District codes and names. The SMFWBEE exam will be conducted in offline mode in these cities:

The SMFWBEE 2025 exam will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four options. Candidates will have 180 minutes/3 hours to solve the objective-type questions. According to the SMFWBEE exam pattern, the exam will be divided into two papers. In the first paper, there will be two sections namely Physics and Chemistry which will have 25 questions each. The second paper will carry the Biology section with 50 questions to test the aptitude of the aspirants. Each question will carry one mark and there will be NO negative marking for an incorrect answer hence students are advised to try to attempt as many questions as they can.  

The exam conducting authorities don't release the official syllabus of SMFWBEE in the notification. There will be three sections from which questions will be asked in the exam which are Physics, Chemistry & Biology. There will be 100 questions in total from which questions will be asked in the exam. 

The authorities will release the SMFWBEE admit card online mode on the official website. Applicants will be able to download the SMFWBEE hall ticket 2025 by entering the login details. Since the exam will be conducted in offline mode, applicants are advised to ensure that all the details mentioned in the admit card of SMFWBEE 2025 are correct. 

Candidates, appearing in the offline mode in the exam, have to carry to the examination centre a printed hard copy of the SMFWBEE admit card and photo ID proof. The admit cards will be issued only based on the information provided by the candidate. All applicants who appear to be prima facie eligible will be issued admit cards and shall be provisionally permitted to sit for SMFWBEE-2024.  

• Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the test.

• No candidate shall be allowed to enter the exam centre beyond the scheduled time of commencement of the test

• No candidate will be allowed to sit for the test in any centre other than the one mentioned in the admit card

• Candidates must carry a hard copy of the SMFWBEE-2025 admit card, a copy of a colored photograph uploaded during the online application

• Candidates must also carry any valid photo identity card Aadhar card/PAN card / Passport/ 10th standard admit card/ School – ID card.

• Candidates are not allowed to carry any written or printed material, calculator, pen, document, log table, wristwatch, any communication device like mobile phones, etc inside the examination hall

• No candidate will leave the examination hall till the end of the test. After all OMRs are collected & tallied by the invigilator, candidates can leave the hall.

• Candidates will not be allowed to take the question booklet after the entrance exam.

The selection of candidates will be done as per the marks obtained in the entrance examination. Only those candidates whose names will be found on the merit list are advised to appear in the counseling process of SMFWBEE exam. 

If the applicant's name is published in the SMFWBEE merit list during the admission process. Then candidates must pay a fee of INR 20,000 so that their seat can be booked for the admission process. 

The counseling will be made for admission to different Medical Colleges / Govt. Institutions/  in respect of successful candidates from the merit list in order of merit subject to availability of seats.

After the conclusion of the exam, the authorities will release the result of SMFWBEE exam in online mode. The authorities will release the result in a PDF format. 

Based on the papers (subjects) that appeared in the SMFWBEE exam followed by marks scored there-of, seven separate Merit Rank Lists shall be published as per the following details:

A. Merit Rank List-I: Combined [General+EWS+ST+SC+OBC(A)+OBC(B)+PH]

B. Merit Rank List-II: Physically Handicapped  

C. Merit Rank List-III: EWS

D. Merit Rank List- IV: ST

E. Merit Rank List-V:   SC

F. Merit Rank List-VI: OBC(A)

G. Merit Rank List-VII: OBC(B)  

a. Ranking of the merit list shall be done in descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects as stated above. However, in case of ties, the tie-breaking rules shall apply to them in the determination of the merit rank.  

b. Separate reserved category merit lists will be published for the respective category of students e.g. EWS Rank, SC Rank, ST Rank, and PH Rank.  

c. The list will be prepared based on the score of candidates who appeared in the combined paper of Physics and Chemistry and one paper in Biology.
