COVID-19 Surge: Delhi University shut for two days; Staff to work from home

DU in its latest notification also informed that during this period all teaching and non-teaching staff will work from home. In case of any requirement, the varsity has directed Dean / Head / Incharges of Faculty / Departments / Units to call the staff.

Amid the rising numbers of novel coronavirus cases in the national capital, the University of Delhi has announced the suspension of all physical activities in the varsity for two days. DU in its latest notification also informed that during this period all teaching and non-teaching staff will work from home. In case of any requirement, the varsity has directed Dean / Head / Incharges of Faculty / Departments / Units to call the staff. Physical activities will be suspended in Delhi University on January 13, 2022, i.e. today and tomorrow, January 14, 2022. However, activities such as selection committee meetings, interviews for PhD admissions, examinations, etc. would take place as per schedule.

The notice released by DU reads, “This is in continuation of the Office Order No. Estabilli)/330/COVID-19/M/2021/18 dated 05th January, 2022 and in reference to the DDMA Orders No. 504, 509 dated 04.01.2022 & 11.01.2022. In view of the sudden surge in the COVID-19 cases in Delhi, the functioning of the University in physical mode shall be suspended for two days on 13.01.2022 and 14.01.2022.”

“All the employees (Teaching and Non-teaching) shall work from home during this period. The Dean / Head / Incharges of Faculty / Departments / Units may call the staff as per their requirement for work during this period. The Selection Committee meetings, interview for Ph.D. admissions, examinations, etc. scheduled shall remain unchanged,” it further added.  

The essential services shall function as per the Office Order of even no. 28 dated 07.01.2022. This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, the notice reads.
